I'm happy to report that everything went smoothly, my vitals are great, and my hospital stay has been phenomenal thanks to the wonderful nurses here! I am able to drink clear fluids and am feeling great...still sore, but no other complaints! I'm looking forward to continuing a positive journey!

My only other issue currently is the gassy/bloated feeling. I'll be taking some meds soon to get things moving in my intestines.

Hi all! I'm currently on day 9 of the 10 day pre-op liquid diet. I don't know if it's the Protein shakes or Crystal Light or what, but my tongue and mouth is crazy dry and I have a constant weird taste in my mouth (and probably bad breath). I've been drinking more plain Water, but it's not helping. Has anyone else experienced this?? I've heard of taste buds changing after surgery...is this the start of it???

Any way to get rid of it?? It's driving me nuts!

Anything with bubbles is carbonated. I need to also say goodbye to Champagne, Riesling, and Moscato. Sad sad day. LOL! I hope you started to feel more comfortable quickly!

I haven't been a size 8 since middle school! It would be awesome if I got there again! What weight (approx) is a size 8?

I'm pretty open about it. I'm not posting it on Facebook, but I will tell people if they ask. They way I see it, it's a measure of getting help. Can't see well? Get glasses. Can't hear well? Get a hearing aid. Can't lose weight? Get surgery. I needed help, and I'm getting it. No need to be ashamed. I'd be more ashamed if I wasn't doing anything about it.

Hi. I'm in PA. Where are you? I live outside of Philadelphia in Bucks County.

I'm 6 days away from having surgery, and I'm finally starting to get slapped with the reality of it. While I'm super excited to find a new me and new confidence and health, I'm starting to get scared/worried of the unknown. The thing I realized last night was that I don't know how to be skinny. Last time I was at a healthy weight was in high school....I graduated 15 years ago. I'm so used to being overweight, I don't know how else to be...Does that make any sense? I'm used to covering myself, slouching, hiding behind big hoodies and scarves, and barely going out in the summer months. What have some of you encountered in this area and how have you overcome it??

Hi everyone! I'm new here! I just got the call from my primary doctor that they sent my letter of recommendation to the surgeon! I'm just waiting for the psych eval to be send and then the surgeon's office can submit to my insurance. I'm so excited! I can't wait to finally take control of my life and weight loss!!! Does anyone have any pre/post-op tips or advice??
