  1. Hi there. I was 250lbs when i had my gastric sleeve surgery. It worked out great. I tried everything and failed at everything. No matter what I did I could not lose the weight. What it boils down to is what YOU want. It is fear of the unknown that what scares people or gets them upset. Just make sure you stick with the program afterwards and always always always make sure you drink your Protein and take your Vitamins. You can do this. We are all here to support you. You know what is best for you.
  2. Hello Bariatric friends, I had my surgery on July 2 2014. I had gastric sleeve. I had lost a total of 110lbs and got to 140lbs. I have gained some weight back but am working on getting that back off. I only have about 15 -20 lbs to go to get back down to 135-140. Anyways, for my question, has anyone experienced being very hungry (you have not eaten yet) but when it comes down to eating, you are not able to eat. Its like your body wont let you. That has been happening a lot lately. It could be my first meal of the day(breakfast). I would take a bite and then I am full after that one bite. It is really frustrating when that happens because I literally have to force myself to eat something. Any advise?
  3. Hi all!!! I have not been on in a few months. I will be 2 years post op on July 2nd. I was doing well there for a while up until about a month ago. I just seem that I am not motivated any more. I am starting to become addicted to food again and become an emotional eater again. I do not want that. I am trying to get my Water in but not getting as much as I should. I have become lazy. I have gained about 16 lbs. It does not seem like much but my clothes are starting to get tight on my again. Anyone have any suggestions? I belong to Kaiser Permanente now but did not have the surgery with them. Do you think that going to a support group may help me? I will never let my self get as big or even close to what I use to be. I wear a size 10-12 right now but before gaining that 16lbs I was an 8-10. Just need a little bit of encouragement or advise please. Thank you all and have a very blessed night.
  4. I am on the right next to my 16 year old daughter I am wearing her clothes now hehe. Size 8-10 and medium shirts. Pre surgery I was size 24 pants and XL shirts.
  5. Happy day all!!! Well I am so close to hitting my ultimate weight goal. AHHHHHHH!!! I have been at 140 for about 1.5 months now and nothing lol. I know I could do more as far as exercise. Any suggestions. My ultimate goal is 125. I have 15 more lbs to lose. . It has been a year and 3 months since my surgery and have lost 107lbs Thank you all

    My one year Surgaversary !

The one on top is me today the one on the bottom is me Last April
  7. Hey there everyone!! Tomorrow marks my one year anniversary of having my surgery. It has been a roller coaster ride and still is. I am down 100lbs. I started out before the preop diet at 247lbs wearing a size 24. I am now at 147lbs in a size 9-10(depending on the clothes of course ). I am able to wear some of my 16 year old daughters clothes. I never thought that would happen to me. We look at my pictures from April of last year and my kids tell me they did not think I was that big at that time. BUt now they see it. My confidence level is going high. I still have about 20-25lbs I would like to lose but I feel good. I will be putting pictures up when I get home from work. Have a great day.
  8. I am 76 lbs down and working hard to get down to 145-140 with in a couple of months. I am currently at 165lbs. I know if I try my hardest I can get to that or close to it. This is my first before and after pictures I have posted here. The first one is me back in April 2014. That was me at my heaviest at 246. The second picture is of course me and my husband lol. That picture of me was taken on Christmas day 2014. I will get better after pictures up soon. Hope you all have a wonderful coming up week.
  9. Well, Things are going well. I am still having to get use to reminding my self that I have to slow down when eating. Sometimes i am so hungry that I forget lol. I am doing better with getting my Protein in each day. I usually eat about one cup of cottage cheese a day which is about 22 grams of protein total. I make my self a fruit smoothie with one scoop of my Bariatric Advantage vanilla protein. I also found out(which i was so happy lol) that Lean cuisines have a good amount of protein. The one I had yesterday was 20 grams. Any ways I have lost 75 lbs total. I have my 6 month follow up on Jan 8th. I am wearing a size 12-13 now from a size 24. I feel great and people tell me I look like very young now lol. I will post some before and after pictures when I get home tonight. Happy New year everyone
  10. Hello all, Today marks 5 months post op. Things are going great!. As of today I am at 172lbs. A total of 70lbs lost. My energy is great and am able to keep up with my two Teenagers and my 11 year old. Now that marching band season is over for my two teens I will start going hiking every Saturday. I use to be in a size 24 and now in a size 13/14. I have 52 more lbs to get to my goal weight. I am able to down my Protein in about 30 mins which is great for me. This whole time I was having problems getting my protein in. I am now getting about 60-70 grams a day. I noticed I lose weight faster when i get in in. I am still having texture problems but trying very hard to get over that. I have 2 more lbs until I can buy myself new clothes(my personal goal). Very happy haha. Have a great day !!!!
  11. @Finediva-- I am extremely happy with what i have lost. He is expecting me to be at 115 by my year post op. He was expecting me to be in the 160's. to me that is way to fast lol. I do not understand why he was disappointed but it is okay. I try to get in about 700-800 calories a day. I eat alot of chicken, salad and other veggies like spinach, carrots, cucumbers and especially soy Beans lol. I love the soybeans. I try to get in my 60-80 grams of Protein a day. I noticed that when I do get my protein in when i am suppose to, it helps me lose more weight. My kids are in Marching season right now but when it is not marching season, I go hiking every Saturday with my in laws and their friends. We usually hike about 10-13 miles total. I work out at least 30 min 4 days a week for now on the tredmill and lifting weights. And most importantly get my Water in.
  12. I was sleeved on July 2 . Best decision i have ever made. I have lost a total of 68 lbs as of last week. My doctor said he was expecting me to lose more then that but I am happy
  13. Hey there everyone, Hope everyone's day is going well. So I am 4 months post op for gastric sleeve. I have lost a total of 66 lbs and have 56 to go to get to my ultimate goal. Yay! I have since the surgery had no problems with getting hungry at all or eating. For the past week I have gotten hungry at my normal times but when I get the food I am not hungry anymore. For example, today I bought a salad and took 2 bites. After those two bites it felt like I was full already to the point of having that feeling of food going up. I have been able to go all day with out eating anything. Has anyone had that problem and if so what helped you. My doctor said if I am not hungry don't eat. He said even if I have not eaten anything all day. I feel weird doing that. I do not want to starve myself. Any advice.?
