  1. It's been a journey that is for sure! How are you all doing? Success? Hard times? Weight loss? Weight gain? I want to hear - I've hit many plateaus and want to see how everyone else is doing 15 months out!

    Hair loss

I am one year three months post OP and mine is barely starting to grow back in.. It gets worse before it gets better.. at about 9 months post OP I thought I was going to be bald! I normally have really thick thick long hair. I took Biotin used thinning hair shampoo.. nothing worked- nature will take it's course. I am so excited to see the 2" of new growth on the top ... even if I do look like a chi pet!
  3. My first two weeks I could only do liquids. I tried cottage cheese a week out and it was just too hard on my tummy. I stuck with Protein shakes, broths and Water.. I would have a juice but would spread it out over 3-5 days for one 16 oz.

How much did you lose the first month?

I lost 11 lbs before the surgery on the liquid only diet and then lost about another 15 that same month. So 26 total the first month.

How do you break a stall?

I am one year and three months post OP. You will hit a LOT of plateaus over the course of your journey. Never give up and keep on going. Eat like you are suppose to eat and you will be fine. I had a 2 month plateau right after my year mark and although it was frustrating I didn't quit! The scale finally started moving again!

    Vitamins made me puke!

I am one year 3 months post op and I struggle with Vitamins.. they make me sick too since the surgery. I finally found a Vitamin that is gentle on my stomach - It's Melaleuca Multi-vitamin. Keep trying until you can find one that works!

Days off work after sleeve surgery

I had my Surgery on a Friday and went back to work the very next Tuesday. So I only took Friday off of work and Monday. None of my co-workers ever knew
  8. I'm 13 months post op and still deal with it every single day. It's horrible!! I have a feeling it will be this way the rest of my life
  9. I am 9 months out and still eat too fast at times. Then I end up hurting like crazy! Old habits die hard.

    Hair loss

I have always had extremely thick long hair and about 3 months post OP it started falling out by they handfuls. I've been dealing with it for about a month and although no one else can tell both my husband and I can. I hate that this is a side effect but do hope it all comes back! I'll keep trying to be as healthy as I can and take care of it the best I can.
  11. This floored me but I have taken medication for Hypothyroid for the past 10+ years. I ran out of pills and wasn't able to get into my Dr for a few weeks due to vacation etc. My Endocrinologist didn't want me on the same dose as I had lost so much weight etc. etc. and he wanted blood work. Once I got back from vacation I had my blood work done and the Dr. called me and told me my levels were 100% NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!! with NO medication. She is now testing me once a month for the next few months to see if it is just a fluke or what is going on? All I have to say is I am in shock and the only reasoning behind it is perhaps my gastric sleeve / weightloss. I've tried researching to see if the surgery can help Thyroid issues and in a lot of cases I have read that yes it does.
  12. @@hmk715 You go girl!! Keep up the good work

    Change in tastes?

I have to agree sweets aren't like they used to be. I don't crave them anymore and have no desire to eat them.
  14. @@Mocha2871 I am beginning to think I am like you. I get it no matter what. I could have an empty stomach and still get it! It is frustrating sometimes.
  15. @@Nicey2u what a great idea on the containers I need to do that. My eyes are ALWAYS bigger than my stomach! What helped you get over the stall do you know?
  16. Almost 2 months out!! I need food ideas! I am so bored with the same old same old. I am not a big seafood fan so don't recommend that. What are you guys eating? Share your creative ideas because I'm lacking in this department.
  17. I am getting in my fluids, Protein & taking Vitamins I am also eating fruits and veggies. I average around 800 calories a day. I am getting 8 hours of sleep a night but I find myself dozing off all the time. In church, at my desk at work, sitting down on the couch after work. It's horrible! I can't stand how tired I am. I could seriously fall asleep anywhere lately. Anyone else suffering from this? I am not losing hair and I feel great otherwise. just so tired.
  18. Yes! and it's terrible! I'm almost 2 months post op. I thought it would have gone away but guess not.
  19. @@ho11ieberry06 Congrats to you! It is something you can do on your own. I am happy you are taking the steps to do it for YOU!!! Good luck to you
  20. @ I had my quote emailed to me in the beginning. I did all of it via email to avoid that problem
  21. @ try the centrum gummy vitamins.. they are yummy and taste like a fruit snack!
  22. @@ebeth1007 I do the gummy vitamins they are so much tastier than the nasty chewable ones and they break down easy.
  23. I too have stalled.. it is super frustrating. I keep telling myself more Protein and more water! I ran a half marathon last Saturday and have been pretty active so I know it's not the exercise/moving that is holding me back! I have done bike rides and zumba this week along with ran 3 miles 3 times this week. I don't know why the dang stalls have to happen but I HATE them! I need to put away my scale because it is so frustrating.
