Hoginona04 got a reaction from Teebaby in Surgeons and hospitals in Louisiana
Dr Redmann did my surgery in the Southern Surgical Hospital in Slidel. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I was treated excellent, the nursing staff was second to none! I actually wrote a letter to the hospital and let them know how well the nuring staff treated me, and that both nurse's deserved a raise. I wouldn't think twice about recommending them to anyone.

Hoginona04 got a reaction from Texas_Chick in Surgeon told me...
I was basically told the same thing. Except the NUT told me to cut my food to the size of a pencil eraser and chew thourghly. Put the fork down between each bite and keep chewing. I'm at 7 weeks post op, and unable to eat more than 1.5 ounces per meal. It usually more like an ounce, of normal food. I can drink a bucket full of Water, but food fills me up so fast that I just give up. (Not that thats a bad thing ) I plan on just taking it day by day, and figure the food intake will increase with time. PS. 49 days post op, 47 lbs gone forever.

I'm hooked...currently on a streak of 402 days!! Hope I didn't jinx myself!!
On the serious note, I update daily, to keep myself honest. I'm 14 months post-op, and swear that I don't want to go backwards and back to my old self. Documenting any intake keeps me aware and accountable.

Hoginona04 got a reaction from SeptemberSlimmer1960 in Do you miss anything about being fat?
I have to agree about the warmth. I didnt realize how much insulation I was carrying around with me. I swear my hands have been cold since I woke up after the surgery.

Hoginona04 got a reaction from Inner Surfer Girl in Travel in Developing Countries
I was in the same type situation, working in the middle east. Not being a fan of the arabic or indian dishes, I too had to come up with an alternative. I found that seafood, (which I love) is normally an option on the menu in one form or another. I also pack a large check in bag with Protein powder, Protein Bars by the box, beef Jerky, Vitamins, dry Beans and a small crock pot, a egg genie for making quick boiled eggs. So far, no issues on my end. Hope some of these ideas help.
