I am getting excited and nervous as the 3rd is quickly approaching. I am having a face lift and a full face laser resurfacing. This is my last plastic surgery.. I had a Tummy Tuck, breast lift with implants, thigh lift and lots of Lipo. I am going to the same doc who did all my surgeries. So happy!!!

My rny and facelift were both a breeze. I had my Tummy Tuck and boobs done at the same time and it was ROUGH! But well worth it now.

I too was a bander and had to have a revision.. I was self pay for both surgeries. Lap band worked for me but it eroded. I chose Bypass over Sleeve because of the following: #1 reason - seeing the revision board on here from sleeve to bypass #2 I only wanted one last wls surgery #3 bypass is the gold standard.. #4 I wanted the one with the BEST results. Now with that being said, I would have been successful with the sleeve because I was successful with the band. I chose bypass quickly.. I just wanted the final one.. My doc said a lot of the first people sleeved are coming back for revisions to bypass .. That's all I needed to hear. I love my bypass! I had the revision done at the same time I had my band taken out. It's been 9 months and I am 3 pounds away from a Normal BMI. It's so much easier than the band was! I love it! I have not thrown up once!

You are going to love the bypass! I was revised from band to rny may 2014. I am below my goal weight which is a normal bmi. I wear a size 6 and honestly I am so much healthier than I was with the band. The band worked for me but I could never lose the last 20 pounds and I had a lot of sliming and throwing up. I have had no sliming and haven't thrown up at all! It's so much easier than the band. Wish I had done it first lol good luck!

Okay, I was released yesterday after having my band to gastric done on the 19th. I am amazed at how well I'm doing. Which I'm not complaining. The only issue I'm having is the drain tube area. It's sore but tolerable. Wish me luck.

hi I was banded in June 2008 lost all my weight and kept it off. Started having problems in 2014 and found out my band had eroded. I was devastated. The band was hard work! I was successful but I had lots of fills and still threw up a lot with weird things like meat but could eat a sleeve of Oreos. I was revised to bypass on May 21, 2014 so I just hit a year. I'm doing awesome wish I had had the bypass first. It's so much easier and I'm so much healthier!!! Crazy but true!!! I was anemic with the band but not with the bypass. Please message me for my info if you want. I who used to be a huge advocate for the band now am anti band and pro bypass. Best thing ever was getting my bypass I'm thinner, healthier and happier than I have ever been!!!!

I am strong, beautiful, intelligent, kind, loving and loved. After a terrible childhood I almost didn't survive, I am happy and madly in love with my husband of 24 years. We raised two awe inspiring women. They both graduated college and now we have an amazing granddaughter. I thank God for my life every single day. I live every day like it is my last and love my family that way. I have no regrets and I have the life I never even could have dreamt of. Surprisingly I didn't allow my parents to destroy me. I chose to be the very best person I could be! Love this thread.

I was banded in 2008 loved my band! Lost all my weight in 9 months (120 pounds) kept it off for 6 years and then my band eroded. Had a revision to bypass in May. Wish I had done the bypass first. It is SOOOO much easier than the band was for me. I feel great, look great and my levels are actually better now than they were with the band surprisingly.. But I can eat foods now I couldn't with the band.. Like chicken, steak and all the veggies.. I struggled with meats with my band unless it was in some gravy. I haven't thrown up once since my bypass. I was anemic with the band but not with the bypass. I'm very pleased.

I was a revision from band to bypass. I never even considered the sleeve. I only wanted one last surgery.. After seeing the sleeve to bypass revision board I knew I would only do the bypass.. And I love it

I had the bypass. Because my insurance has a 'one lifetime weight loss surgery' clause. So glad I did!
Especially since I wanted the lap band and just heard HORROR story's about it.
I found this website a week ago. So I am so happy I did the bypass.
    Complications and all.
    Best decision I EVER made!

I haven't deprived myself of sweets or carbs.. I will have a bite or two and am satisfied. I try to stick to dark chocolate and whole grains though. I am almost 8 months since RNY and only have 5 pounds to my goal which is a normal BMI. I myself believe if I deprive myself it's all I think about. So by allowing myself to indulge a smidge it keeps me in check. I usually have one dark chocolate dove piece a day. It's also heart healthy ???? I don't believe in sugar free either.. Sugar free items are full of chemicals which I will not be putting in my body. Give me the real stuff just in tiny amounts.

Hi ladies!! I was revised from band to bypass on May 21, 2014. 8 weeks later I am down 34 pounds. I have found it much easier with the bypass than the band. The weight is coming off slower this time though. Most likely because when I was banded I was 305 and when I was revised I was 245 ( had to gain 50 to be eligible to have the rny) recovery was so much easier this time. I did a bowel prep day before surgery so I wouldn't have to worry about BM after which always were an issue for me. I also walked a lot after surgery.. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask away!!
