    Surgery 7/30/2014

The tiredness is completely normal. Mine lasted well over 2 months. I am just over 3 months post op now and finally feel like my energy levels are back to normal. I had a really hard time with the tiredness especially while trying to keep up with my 8 and 6 year olds. There have been some pretty tough days along the way but they are few and far between now. So, try to remember that it does get easier... Best wishes!
  2. All I wanted to do while I was in the hospital was sleep. Comfy clothes to go home in... And slippers.

    Stuck food

You may be right. I had vomited too. I have no desire to repeat that experience again anytime soon.
  4. I just experienced my first stuck food. Holy painful! I had half of a slice if deli turkey. I though I chewed it up enough but apparently not... Tips to avoid this in the future?
  5. I had my post op appt today with my surgeon. I am down 19 lbs from my last pre op visit. He is very pleased with my progress. I am currently in the waiting room waiting to see my dietician and may be able to move on to the next diet stage. :-)

    Nope. It is a shot.

    Liquids

Mine keeps you on liquids until you return for your two week post op appt. The shakes for the first 4-6 months. (Just a note. Tomorrow is my two week from surgery. Follow up is on Wednesday. I will see then if he will advance me to the next stage of the diet.)
  9. I know each doctor is different and has different guidelines he/she has you follow. I was just curious how long yours has/had you stay on your liquids after surgery and also how long he/she keeps you on your protein shakes?

    Stall and side pain

From what I was told, sometimes a nerve can be aggravated on the left side and it can be quite painful. My surgeon told me if that were to happen, they are able to do a nerve block and that will help.

    Lovin my protein shake

I haven't. I never even heard of any of this until this post. It totally makes me excited. I have been terrible with my protein shakes the last few days. Every time I smell one I feel like I am going to throw up. :-(

    Lovin my protein shake

I am going to have to try those syrups.... I am hating my protein shakes right now. Thanks for sharing!

    Freaking Out

I totally can relate to the freaking out. I had my surgery a week ago tomorrow. That morning was really rough. I felt like an emotional wreak all morning. Just put your faith and trust into your surgeon. Everything is going to be fine. Remind yourself why you are doing this. When you feel ready to panic, take deep breaths and try to relax. The first 24-48 hours I found to be tough, but I have been off my pain meds since Friday and today walked 2 miles. And that is only 6 days post op... Stay positive! You can do this!!! :-)
  14. After surgery did any of you have the feeling of needing to burp but not being able to? I have been taking chewable gas-x, but this feeling is so uncomfortable.

    Fever

No other symptoms. I re-checked my temp a little while ago and it wand normal. Must have been a fluke thing.
