  1. I'm October 8th. I'm not nervous either. I've only told my children, fiancé, & a friend that had gastric about 6-7 months ago. I really don't want or need to hear anyone's negative opinion or comments about my decision to make myself a healthier person. So I haven't told too many people. Best wishes to you next week. Stay focused & don't let anyone discourage you from your goal.
  2. Mnmist I totally agree with you. The liquid diet is not that bad. I too have a toddler & all she does is eat. I cook for my family & I haven't been tempted to eat. I'm in day 7 & I feel great!!!! Planning is a must, I couldn't agree with you more dogloverlosingit. Best wishes to all & keep up the excellent work.
  3. They should count. Before I started, they counted the previous month. So all I had to do was 5 months & my requirements...
  4. Best wishes on your surgery.
  5. WL Warrior it's amazing how I'm getting through the liquid diet too. It's very much mental. I get a little hungry at times but I drink my water or broth or eat my jello. Sometimes I ignore the hunger pains. I'm glad that I'm not nauseous & I haven't had any major headaches. All is well, I'm happy & I'm exercising. Best wishes to you on your surgery. Keep us posted on your progress.
  6. I don't think it would be wise for you too travel home alone. Keep in mind that you will still have pain medication in your system. I can't drive for a wk according to my surgeon.
  7. Luckyone53 I've done that in the past too. Lol. But the only thing that've changed for them was instead of white bread etc. I'm making them eat whole wheat. No junk food or anything. They are ok with it. They have no choice. Lol
  8. Kayla raye 17 I just experienced something similar to what you went thru. Cinnamon raisin bagels are truly a weakness. I cooked breakfast & my fiancé brought home bagels. I'm so glad that I'm not weak. They smelled so good. But not once did I say I'm eating this food. So I can relate & applaud you for sticking to the rules. Keep up the excellent work!!!
  9. Lucky one 53 I love onion soup!!! Those received sound delicious!!!
  10. I love chicken broth too. It had helped me out with being nauseous. Staying hydrated is another thing that I've been focused on. Drinking over 64oz a day. It's a must. I'm looking forward to each stage as strange as that may seem. There is so much that you can do to healthy foods. Stay focused & congrats to everyone as we embark on this wonderful journey.
  11. I agree with cynthiarm2000. You are almost finished. Don't give up now. We can do this. I asked myself the same question. Why & how did I let myself get this way. But you know what the main thing is that we are doing something about it. Don't let other people discourage you from your goal. People will always have something negative to say about anything. It's not the easy way out at all. So whoever has said that can defiantly kiss where the sun don't shine!!! Keep the faith & best wishes to you & everyone who is on this journey.
  12. I agree with it's all good! 2 week liquid diet for me. No food at all. Some of you are lucky to be able to eat a small meal. I'm on day 4 & I feel great. It's not as hard as I thought it would be. Stay hydrated & stay focused. We came too far to turn back now. Best wishes to everyone.
  13. I just had my office visit yesterday & my doctor didn't tell me that I had to lose a certain amount if weight. I've lost since I first started. I'm on a 2 wk liquid diet. But I just thought it was odd that he didn't tell me to lose a certain amount of weight.
  14. Hello everyone, we can do this!!! 10 more days until my surgery. I'm feeling good, staying hydrated & praying that everyone's surgery & pre-post op liquid diets go well. I'm on a 1200 diet calorie liquid diet. My calorie in take is no more than 620. My protein shakes are 30 grams of protein. I thought I would have 2 shakes per meal but I'm full after the 1st one.
  15. I'm October 8 too!!! 10 days away!!!!
  16. Lucky one congrats on your surgery. And your absolutely right. What type of soups are you making?
  17. I was thinking the same thing. He should of had gloves on & how unprofessional was he? The hospital would have received a nice little letter from me.... Lots of luck with your surgery, I'm the day after yours.
  18. I'm day 3 of liquid diets. Hang in there. Stay hydrated as much as possible. Best wishes to you.
  19. How do I delete this post? It was posted twice by mistake
  20. Lol Lexie!!!! I love it!!!! Keep us posted on your progress. Congrats & we all hope your doing well.
  21. Finediva.... Congrats to you as well. I'm not sure what's going on with my body. I'm doing what I'm suppose to be doing. I'm not sure why I'm too hungry the way I thought I would be. But I thank God I'm not going crazy for food. I think a lot of it is mental more than physical.
  22. Itsjessica.... You can do it! We have come way too far to turn back now. This will all be worth it. I'm looking forward to running, buying smaller clothes, not taking medications, & feeling better about myself. Hang in there!!!!
  23. Jlnrgn... Congrats to you. I agree with you, if you follow your doctors orders you will be fine. Keep up the excellent work & keep us posted on your progress.
  24. I'm pre op. I'm very surprised how my body is handling the liquids so far. I do get headaches & I can tolerate them. They aren't that bad. Sometimes when I smell good I get nauseous. 2 days down 12 to go
