    Medical marihuana post op

Its not completely legal. There are still federal laws on the books. It funny to watch the pot fixes every thing crowd. Very little is backed by real studies. In general there are better drugs than pot because they dont have the other side effects and face it smoking anything is not healthy. Most of the anti GMO crowd that I know are stoners. Did they ever think why pot is so much stronger than back in the day? Damn, real scien the way.

    Sleep Habits

Yes, its normal to be tired for a while after surgery. I needed naps for several months. Water seems to be the key for energy. Drink more and more.

    I am mad at myself..

I have been married for 30 years, raised 3 great kids, have a great job and led a good life. Weight loss surgery has done wonderful things for me. Between the weight loss and stopping drinking I have become awake. And the things they say in the men’s lounge are true, I feel like superman. My wife on the other hand hasn’t wanted intimacy for at least 5 years. Now that I am awake, intimacy is what I crave most. I have talked to the wife about it, but it’s not on the top of her list. I guess the thrill is gone. However, in my mid 50’s I am not going to live the rest of my life without something I crave. Life is just too short. I’m just not sure, how to go about it. I read the stories of dating sites and that sounds scary. Plus I’m still married. For me it’s a confusing mess. I also don’t want to be involved with or create a messy relationship.

    Week 6: May 27-31st Sleevers

Have been down 80 lbs, but have been in a stall the last couple of weeks. Even gained back 1 lbs. Tracking my meals and running about a legit 1200 cals aday. I cant complain about the weight I have lost , but want to get past this stall. Any suggestions. I eat 2 pieces of fruit and fruit flavored greek yogurt all of which have carbs. Should I cut these carbs out of just be patient and hope stall obsides?

9 months out and really foul gas?

The change in diet has definatley made a difference in how I smell. I dont think its any more stinky just different. I try to stay down wind when others are around but feel sorry for the person in the next stall at work .
  10. I have been told by my Doc that one drink stalls weight loss for 3 days. Myself like others in the thread broke my own rules and drank more than I needed scotch on the rocks over the holiday weekend. It made me feel like crap the next few days. Now I am stalling with even a slight weight gain. I will not do that again. Not another drink until I reach my goal.

    Coffee

My doc let me drink coffee right off the bat. One thing to think about, for every cup of coffee you need to match it with water because it’s a diuretic.(spelling) That being said coffee is the best appetite suppressant I have found. Before surgery I could not sleep if I drank coffee. Now I can abuse it and still sleep. It’s my one and only vise. I also dont have acid problems. That could be a problem for some.
  12. Statistics say most of us will quit taking supplements after 2 years. I take them if I remember.I can sit a work all day with a baggy full of vitamins in my face and still forget.

    Life after surgery

There is no reason you cant have a shot on your 21st Bday. Just dont make a habit of it.
  14. 1) It takes several weeks for the muscle soreness to go away, that is if your working out 3 days a week. 2) Numbers dont mean that much. In other words, reps and amount of weight or resistance used are not important. The objective is to make the muscle run out of gas and keep your heart rate up. My trainer can kick my butt with very little weight. 3) An hour sounds excessive. Its suprising how much you can get out of 30 to 45 minutes. I shoot for 45 minutes but it takes a few weeks at 3 sessions a week to build up to it. 4) It shouldnt hurt. Sure your muscles will burn when they run out of oxygen and fuel, but there should be no joint or torn muscle kind of pain during the workout. Muscle stiffness after a work out is different. See #1. 5) Check the trainer credentials. Many have very little training and some have full 4 years degrees. My current trainer has a degree. She knows the biology involved and will not hurt you. This means a knowledge of muscle, one structure, joint and connective tissues plus nutrition. She specializes in helping people that are losing mass weight. Its suprising how much your core is effected by weight loss.

    Favorite in Puree?

I enjoyed bean soup and there was a veggy chili that was low in sodium. Cant think of the brand, but it wasnt inexpensive. Who cares when the can is good for a couple of meals.

    SCARED!

Dont worry about protein or calories, concentrate on water. The rest will come in time.

    ounces per serving

At 2 weeks I was at a 1/4 cup per serving. It rapisly increases to a 1/2 cup. However, you ask a loaded question. It all depends on what food you are eating. At 2 weeks my best adavise is dont worry about calorie intake but concentrate on water , water, water.

    Mens Stats

I am going onto week 10. My usual day ( at work) consists of a mixture of greek yogurt and oatmeal (6 oz), Small fruit snack, home made chili (1/2 cup) have started substituting 200 cal lean cuisines for the chili, Small fruit snack, 4 oz of animal Protein and some veggys for dinner. I also should include 6 servings of half and half with the coffee I drink. This adds up to the 1200 cal range. I am currently down 77 lbs. Weekends are a little tougher controling what I eat. I do not drink alcohal, ever. I also try to get 10,000 step in aday logging with fit bit. I have found Water is the most important consumable. It has a lot to do with ones energy level.

    my calculations

One thing I have learned on this adventure is calculating ones caloric intake and out take means very little. I use the numbers only as a way to gage intake. My weight comes off in steps, but I average it by the week or month. In other words, I will drop 3 to 5 lbs over night then stall as my body catches up then I take another drop. I wish it were as easy as addition and subtraction.

    low fat cream soup

Easy use Campbells and make it using water. The problem I had at that time frame was getting to much salt. And I doubt I will ever eat another can of creamed soup in my life. Another food I used at the time was Veggy Chilly blended and thinned out with water. I could control the salt better. Another thing to remember were your at, is dont worry about calories or protien, but get your water in. Let me repeat myself get your water in. As you heal the calorie and protein thing will come together. You will find yourself getting better as time goes on, but it takes time to heal mentally and physically. Its confusing at times, but gets much better.
