  1. Standard for my clinic is full blood a 6 months. I ended up have gout as a side effect and had some of my blood work done at a month out. The pre diabetis was gone along with needing blood pressure meds. I am curious about Vitamin levels. The more people I talk with it seems with the band if you eat a balanced diet full blown Vitamins are not required. I plan to post the findings when I hit 6 months.

    Mexico or not

A major problem for me with Mexico is the follow up support. I have one year of Nut, Doc and shrink support plus a monthly face to face support group that also has online support. And I have legal recourse should it be required. Self pay at my clinic costs 21K. Dr Alverez in Mexico costs 10K plus all the extras and travel. I feel I got the better deal. Its your body. Most of the staff at my clinic has had one form or another of bariatric surgery. Nothing like support from those with first hand experience.

AS of today I am once and for all out of 3x shirts.

    When is popcorn okay?

I tried is at 6 weeks with no problems.
  5. After running the numbers using their proamI feels it not accurate. I have blown by the 80% colum in 8 weeks.
  6. At two weeks out there are plenty of things you can eat. For me it was any thing that could go through a straw as long as it didnt have seed. ( EX. strawberries) Get the doritoes and other foods like that out of the house so your not tempted.
  7. I had it easy, however apples did not work for me out of the gate. Keep trying different solids. Make sure to chew thoroughly. One of my go to's is greek yogurt mixed with oatmeal. It better if you mix it hours before you eat it. Not quite a full blown solid, but it sticks to your ribs. If you having problems with meat, maybe its to dry. Try smoothering it with marinara sauce and eat small bites.
  8. Try raw vegan protein powder. It a newer fad that the cooked powder.

    I don't know guy's...I need Help.

I found that most surgeons doing bariatrics dont have black marks on their record. The surgical group I used has been in operation for over 10 years. Completes about 500 sleeves a year and has only had one leaker.

    Leaks

I would check the surgeons recorded, but statistically the odds of getting a leak are very low and happen shortly after surgery. I would not pay to much attention to your family’s attempt to scare you. Stick to the facts.

    Possible dehydration?

Hydration is the most important thing to keep in mind. Low blood sugar could also be causing your issue. Try drinking a 1/4 cup of fruit juice. If it s low blood sugar you will get almost imediate results.
  12. I think not returning to work is a bad idea , so did my Doc. Work helded me stay on an eating schedule. I have learned from those that are years post-op that at home on weekends is the hardest time to control your eating.

    Question for sleevers

I am not there yet but asked that question at the start. I would talk to your nut. You need to increase your calorie intake and find the balance that works for you.

    flirting

Girls gone wild is an understatement. Being on the other side of the fence Cow Girl Jane has always been objective, honest and educated when adding content to this site. Those are traits many of us guys find very attractive. The flirting tips such as proper eye contact and a touch on the shoulder will definitely have the proper effect. I think CGJ will win the day. However, Miss Mac’s, Paul Harvey quote about not giving up the cookie will drive men away fast. I don’t think I’m of base stating everybody’s cookie at this point in life is missing a bite or two. My retort is a quote from another radio personality Tom Lykis whom some consider an expert in these situations. “If you haven't got laid by the 3rd date you are traveling down the "friends" road.” At that point it’s time for us guys to politely use the wrong chemistry line. So much for talk show advise.

    Scars!

8 weeks post op and some belly hair growth back I have to look for mine. Chicks dig scars anyway.

    fitbit

One thing nice about fitbit is that you can compete against yourself. If you want to add more self competition start the couch to 5K program. It will have you in shape for your first 5k in ten weeks. Then you can run agaist others of go for your personal best time. After that who knows maybe work up to 10K or more. That being said fitbit has been a great tool for me. I also use it to track my daily food intake.
  18. There are non surgical weight loss clinics that can help you.
  19. You ate to fast. We all have to learn that. I did the same thing with the first apple. Did not pay attention to eating and swallowed to large a peice. Not fun.
  20. RJ when people ask if the cheesburger they ate on day 3 was OK, they are clueless. If one cant handle the truth then they should find somebody to cuddle them and lie to them by telling them everything is OK. Your not going to find much of that in this support group. Most of us are very serious and plan to reach our goals. Before starting this process one should have done their homework and understood this is NOT an easy way out and it takes hard work and dedication to be sucessfull. Being clueless isnt the smart thing to do.

    Best Tasting Chicken Broth?

I found the tasty chicken broth had lots of salt. After about a week I felt like a salt lick and searched out the lowest sodium both /soups I could find. Now at 8 eek post op I am letting a little salt back in, but it is suprising how little I use anymore. I hardley exceed 1200 MG per day. 2000 is were the FDA sets the normal level.

    Rude Comments

Sounds like she had issues. I work with several people like that. Just ignore her.
  23. I am on week 9 post op and quickly approaching -70. About 6 weeks I stalled for a week. Since then its been a rip tear on fat loss. I was hoping for a bit of a stall for my body to catch up.
  24. When I signed up for this surgery having a strong support group in place was a top priority making my choice of Docs. Many on this site chose to go the surgical tourist direction. Not having support is one reason I would not recommend the trip to mexico or india. That being said many cant afford or dont have insurance to cover the costs leaving one no choice but going out of country. Support after the sale is very important for great sucess. This can be shown by the horror stories of ealy bariatric surgeries. There are many books and plenty of bariatric advise available on Ytube. There also doesnt seem to be a standard for meals after surgery. All Docs seem to have their own beliefs. The governing body for bariatric surgeons should get this fixed.
