  1. @@honeybunz thanks. At least I know I'm not alone. I just don't want to return to grazing and fail.
  2. I take two prilosec daily. prescribed. Totally shouldn't be acid.
  3. How is this possible? I was under the impression the hunger hormone was removed when they took out 85% of my stomach. I was looking forward to not being hungry...to not being tempted. Whenever the hungries get to me, I've been good and had a SF Popsicle, or SF Jello, or had more Water. I've been good. Next Thursday I graduate to soft foods, from full liquids. Someone please tell me I will be satisfied more and the hungries will subside.
  4. totally possible. read through the forums...there a many who have done as well or better than some with the bypass.
  5. @@mommyof2girls I agree it is totally getting old. I am a week and 2 days post op. I seem to remember being assured when they removed 85% of my stomach that they took the "hunger hormone" So, why am I so dang hungry??
  6. @@Swampdoggie I sure hope you are right. I'm on full liquids for a few more weeks.
  7. @@GEAUX SAINTS I soooo want the hunger to go away! I am hungry all the time!
  8. There is no shame in being a bariatric pal forum stalker! We've all done it!!
  9. @@FlabbyNat have you noticed the same dang Subway commercial about that pulled chicken sandwich topped with frito's?? It is on ten thousand times a day!! They must be paying a fortune in advertising!!
  10. United Health care. But if you are using a bariatric center of excellence, they generally can help you with these hoops. Yes I had hoops, too. My requirements were that it was a bariatric COE, my BMI was over 40 and I attended a dr's supervised diet for (an undetermined amount of time). No specific months. AND.....no past BMI from the last 5 years or whatever.....They used to require that as well, but most Insurance companies have dropped that requirement. Best of luck to you. I know I wouldn't be able to lose the weight without this surgery. I have only lost 20 pounds, but I wouldn't have been able to do that. I was on Nutrisystem for 6 months and couldn't lose 20 pounds. I lost these 20 pounds in the past 3 weeks.
  11. @@judyoz careful! Alcohol is drinking your calories. Your surgeon or dietitian should've gone over that with you. Abstaining from alcohol is a small price for getting thin and healthy.
  12. WOW! That is just crazy that he would expect that from you. My PCP only had me weigh in monthly, recorded my weight, and we discussed my diet, what calorie level I was at, he made suggestions.....sometimes my weight was up sometimes it was down....but in the end the only thing that mattered is that I went. Due to me being above 40 BMI I qualified without my PCP's approval.
  13. @@dmjost@gmail.com that sucks. My UHC dropped that requirement.
  14. @@readyforchange1974 sending well wishes your way. All the best to you. I had to make that decision too, so did many others. I feel bad for folks who need this but have no way to get it. take care!
  15. @@CanyonBaby lol Not about to do push ups! I'm only 6 days post op and not allowed to lift 15 pounds. Pushing up 250 pounds is probably frowned upon too. But I do get my exercise in. Sometimes I just want to sit and watch a program.
  16. @@Aiynjel OMG! I am so sorry that happened to you! That is unacceptable that no one called you on the 20th to reschedule, instead of handling it the way they did. That is just horrible. I was really careful prior to surgery with the cigarettes. I quit a year before the surgery, and made my hubs quit too. I quit going to the casinos a year ago, to stay away from 2nd had smoke, as well. They really take that seriously! Hang in there, though. It is soooo worth it, and so are you.
  17. I am a week post op. I'm following the structured plan from my surgeon. But, I'm home for a few weeks recovering and these food commercials are EVERYWHERE! I really hope that someday soon they won't bother me. I know that I cannot eat any of the stuff in these commercials. I'm a week post op! I could really do some serious damage if I even tried. But, I bet there are people out there who lost the battle of wills and ate the junk on the commercial. And, that makes me so sad, and furious at the same time. I think I will stop watching tv, and switch to Netflix. There are no commercials on Netflix.
  18. It was day 3 before I could have full liquids.
  19. @@debbie813 I'm so sorry you are having a hard time. Hang in there. Maybe stick with Clear Liquids till the spasms subside. Hydration is really what's most important right now, anyway.
  20. @@BLERDgirl I hope the Miralax I used today helps. That sucked!!
  21. I have to take two Omeprazole capsules daily. One in the morning and one in the evening. So 40mgs daily. Prescribed by my surgeon. (same as Prilosec). I open the capsules into Jello or unsweetened applesauce. and do not chew the medicine. That's how I do it. Seems to work great, I have had no issues with being sick after my surgery.
  22. @@Ready set go! I remember a little bit of spasming...but it didn't bother me. It stopped. I only noticed it right afterward. I stayed only one night and was released the next morning at 8am. Sending well wished to you. Hang in there.
  23. @@Aiynjel I hope you are doing well!
  24. I am 6 days post op. I have my follow up appt tomorrow, exactly 1 weeks since my surgery. No BM's till yesterday and today....both were constipation, and I had to push. owie! I have added miralax to my Water now. I have been following the surgeon's eating plan to the letter, so, the constipation freaked me out a little. All I had were liquids till 2 days ago, and I was allowed 2 tbs yogurt, 2 tbs creamed, strained Soup, and 2 tbs thinned hot Cereal, which I have not tried yet.But I've been getting in more water than required. I am required to get in 40oz, I've gotten in 47oz. So, WTH is up with the constipation? .................wait................pain meds I bet!
