  1. Shorts?? Maybe next year. I'm brave enough not for capri's. lol. but I still have a ways to go to reach goal. At least another 50 pounds.
  2. Resurrecting a really old thread, due to an upcoming vein stripping procedure next week. Would love to hear experiences from others who have already had their veins stripped, and spiders schero'd.
  3. UHC is covering my varicose veins and spider veins. My first procedure for the worst vein is this Thursday afternoon. Anyone want to tell me what to expect?
  4. Someone needs to take you up on that offer. that's a great offer. Too bad you can't take them. They are outstanding vitamins.
  5. I was allowed coffee at week 5 post op
  6. @@mykdzmom You are very wise, and I am just being impatient, which is really dumb..Thanks for your response!!
  7. Ok, sounds like we're pretty normal. I'm not going to sweat it. I'm not gaining anymore, that's for sure!
  8. I worry when I see my friends who have had the surgery losing so fast, and go from a 22W to a size 5 in 6 months, and I still am not below 200 pounds. Then I did the math. I am actually losing at 2.5 pounds per week. Is that about normal? I know comparing myself to someone else is the wrong thing to do, but I do it. What do you think?
  9. @@SWEETTEA Hi! I see you are from Missouri. I'm in Kansas. Who was your surgeon? Mine is Stanley Hoehn.
  10. @@lmm300missouri I remember I was not "out" for my EGD. But it didn't bother me. I think I just got enough twilight sleep drugs to take the edge off. I remember it all. But didn't care. HA! I didn't have to remove my clothes, just my hoodie jacket. I have had a totally uneventful recovery, and I have lost quite a bit of weight. My only tip is to get yourself some Miralax that dissolves in Water. The pain meds cause severe constipation. That is the only complication I had. At week 3 I had a twinge in my large incision occasionally. That is normal. I was just healing. No more twinges after week 6. Best of luck to you! But you won't need it. Your doctors are the VERY best of the VERY best. We are lucky to have them.
  11. @@lmm300missouri We went to the same facility! I love it when I run across folks who are local!! Aragon did my EGD..easy peasy!
  12. I agree with the other posters here. Follow your instructions post surgery to avoid leaks. My Dr had 2 leaks in his whole career. You want to know why? Because one patient thought it was ok to eat a bag of doritos home from the hospital, and the other one thought it was ok to eat a t-bone steak. Follow your instructions, and I would wager that you will be perfectly fine.
  13. @@Mremilio Allen Carr is how I quit too!!
  14. @@lynneanne it'll come off. Don't stress, its not a race. Smooches!
  15. @@sallydswanson The constipation is an ongoing problem for me, as well. I have to take stool softeners every day. I think that's from having only Protein, since there is no room for enough veggies to make things move. I am 4 months out.
  16. I just add a little Water to PB2, stir it up and eat it with a spoon, just like Peanut Butter, only better.
  17. It could be your diaphragm is bruised from the drain, if you had a drain. That took a day or two for me to feel better. I never had any gas pains, thank goodness. I heard they were pretty painful.
  18. Yep, stalls happen, but it still works. Just know it's normal.
  19. @@Vad1988 unfortunately my shift at work prevents me from attending the support groups there. I wish I could. I do have a FB support group that started just with the peeps I work with, but others have joined that are relatives, or friends of the surgical patients. I do know some people who go to the support group though. I check them out on their FB page. They record them and put them up there. You could get your feet wet by checking it out on their FB page.
  20. I actually like the taste of PB2 better than Jiff or Skippy!
  21. @@Vad1988 Dr Hoehn is my surgeon too. I had my procedure 4/23/15, and I also had zero complications (aside from constipation), have enjoyed every minute of it and am down a ton of weight. Tim and Dr Sabapathy both are impressed with my progress and that I had no complications!! I think this bariatric center ROCKS!!! (it has been really easy for me too)
  22. Worst case scenario is you have to do 3 months of face to face visits. Really..that's not bad. It sounds like a lifetime to someone waiting for the surgery, but it will go faster than you think. The end result is worth all the hoops. I promise.
  23. @@hockeyfan7 The hair loss generally happens around the 3rd or 4th month. You are early post op still. Hope you don't experience it, but like most everyone has said....it's just hair, and it does grow back.
