    Stress incontinence

I had stress incontinence really bad. It went away at about 50 pounds lost. Thank goodness!
  2. I am not anywhere near maintenance, but I had my 6 month post op appointment today, and my surgeon was disappointed that in the last 3 months I only lost 20 pounds. He said I should've lost 40, (twice what I lost)...he contributed it to me not drinking Protein shakes, and trying to get in 60 grms in solid food. I haven't been reaching my protein goals for a few months evidently. So he told me to do 5 days of Protein Shakes (like at the beginning) to jump start my weight loss again. And after that I have to continue to drink a shake a day, so I get enough protein. Dang it! I thought I was doing well, but I wasn't.

Well, I've been yelled at today.

@@winklie Are you up to the stage where you could have chili? Chili is my "perfect" food. It has the Protein, the Fiber, and some veges (I use onions and peppers in my chili). I eat a lot of chili. Well.....not at one time, but I have it more often than anything else.

    I miss salad?

I miss salads too. I'm 6 months post op, and I still don't eat salads. They just take up sooo much room, and there is no room for Protein if you eat a salad. and...there is really no nutritional value to a salad. At least iceberg lettuce salads. Spinach has nutrients. But, for me to keep losing, I need protein. So, protein first, and no room for salads. It's ok. Its a small price to pay to get small and healthy

yep! I used GENEPRO unflavored with Crystal light.

    Knowing when to stop eating?

Hiccups, or sneezing. But the BIG indicator is when I've taken that ONE bite, and my tummy gives me a warning of NOT ANOTHER BITE OR YOU WILL VOMIT. That is one indicator I pay attention to, and so far (knock on wood) I have not vomited at all. I can't explain that feeling, but when you have that feeling, you know it. I am 6 months post op.

NSV - My smaller jeans are saggy in the butt!

legs and butt (and everything else waist up) My tummy is the last to reduce in size too. Weird, too, because in my younger years when I lost weight, I always lost my gut first.

    Popped stitches?

If you have worries, have your medical team check you out. Don't waste your time asking folks who can't examine you.

    Ab Binder

Nope. I held a pillow on my tummy on the drive home, and didn't even use that once I got home. Never had any issues.
  11. I just read some reviews on it, and they aren't great.

    Cold remedies 1 week out

It's best to reach out to your surgeon and ask what you can take. Feel better.
  14. It totally gets better!! I am on cloud 9! I can do things I haven't done since I was a teenager! I can walk so fast my hair blows back! I can sprint through my office if I'm "running" late to a meeting...and not shake the building! I can cross my legs...I can fit nicely in the bathtub. I have been flirted with!! (that is new for me! Been married 30 years!) I can cross my arms, reach that one spot on my back that itches, that I could never reach before! I have been excited about this surgery since before I had it. I did so much research, and u-tube watching I could've almost performed the surgery myself! I had zero regret. I am sorry you feel regret. Trust those of us who have been there....it sooooo gets better! All the best to you!

Can we talk about Halloween candy?

We don't get many kids at my place, so not worried. The hard part is all the Halloween candy at the office! I walk a mile out of the way to avoid it!

    UNITED HEALTHCARE PPO

As mentioned above, with UHC it is required that you get prior approval through the bariatric coordinator before getting the show on the road, or it will be denied, and you have to start back at square one. I heard back in 2 days after the bariatric hospital submitted it to UHC for approval.

Well, I've been yelled at today.

If it were me, I would ask them if they offer the "reminder text". I agree with those above, that text was a life saver for me, when once I had entered the time into my phone as PM instead of AM. Without the reminder text I would've been late. I also write my appts on my desk calendar at work, my email calendar at work, & my wall calendar at home. That's how OCD I am about not missing any appointments. I don't want to be charged for not being there. I've had my surgery, so no worries about being dropped, but there is the worry that I will be charged for a missed appt, and insurance doesn't pay for those. Keep on keeping on, and don't miss any more appts.

    Smoking with Surgery

I quit a year and a month before surgery....I knew I wanted my lungs healthy during surgery, with the anesthesia, and to be able to breathe deeply with the breathy thingy afterward, so I didn't get pneumonia. I don't miss regular cigs at all.

    Smoking with Surgery

@@refocus YES!! I felt the same exact way! I smoked lots longer than you. My hubs quit with me. He vaped for a while, then just quit everything altogether. Now he'll have a cigar every once in a great while. But I still love my vape. Mostly in the car. Sometimes at home, I forget where I put it. But I love it when I am in the car when I am driving, or when I'm riding shotgun. Just throw those cigs away and get a quality e-cig. not one of those ones from a gas station. KC Vapes is who I use..they are local to me. But they have a website too.

I wish I could blink my eyes or twitch my mouth and make it happen today. But, I guess I wouldn't appreciate it if it was that simple.
