    How much walking after surgery?

I was up and walking about three hours after surgery and took a ten minute stroll about every two hours the night I was in the hospital. I found the more I walked, the better I felt. Listen to your own body, but the more, the better.

Going out to eat for the first time..

I'll be 4 weeks post op tomorrow. Took mom out for dinner last night and had a few bites of some grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and fruit. Ate slowly, took small bites and chewed everything until my jaw hurt, and everything went fine. Just make smart choices and take your time, and I'll bet you will do fine.

    1 Week Stall already!?

Had my surgery 4/14. Lost 9 pounds after week one, then stopped for 10 days. Now, just in the last three days, I've lost three pounds, so don't lose hope. I'm betting you will notice a change very soon.

    Any advise would be nice

I had my surgery the same day and have lost 10, so yeah, I think you are doing very well!
  5. I think my stall started early! Sleeved 4-14, and lost 8 pounds first week. In the last three or four days, scale seems to have stopped moving. I'm confident it will again, but its annoying!

    on my way and nervous!

Best of luck to you all! I was there one week ago today! As they say: Walk, walk, walk and then walk some more. It really does make you feel better.

    Day 3 and so uncomfortable!

I have thought the same thing. Never really had trouble getting the fluids in after day one, but it seems to me like it must be healing and tightening up a bit. 6 oz at a time is about what I'm good for, but 5 oz. feels better.

    Day 3 and so uncomfortable!

Another first poster who had the surgery on 4/14. So far, easier than expected. I find the best cure for gas pains is walking. I've been walking about 2 miles a day since day 3, and it just seems to make me feel better. I'm getting a bit of pain on swallowing as well, but I had the hiatel hernia repair fixed at the same time, and I think that is the root cause of that. Starting on full liquids today, and I never thought sugar free, no fat yogurt could taste so good! So far, no regrets!
