Carbonation?
Like Carolk36 said, my doctor told me that I would have to worry about pouch expansion. Before surgery I was addicted to Coke Zero, its all I drank. I stopped drinking it before surgery and haven't missed it since. I did have a small one not long ago, and all I did was burp. My nutritionist said that I could have some every so often, but I don't because Im afraid of becoming addicted again. However, I wouldn't think seltzer Water would be that big a deal every once in awhile. Give it a try.

Please tell me this stall will pass ( I know it will, but I need some good vibes!)
You're definitely going to stall. Your body has just been through a major transformation! Like another poster said, it needs a break. It has to get use to the idea of what you have done. I went through quite a few stalls, especially early on. I know its hard to stay faithful, but you will get through it! Good Luck!

Feeling stuck :(
I'm 27 weeks post op, and I feel stuck. It's not really that I feel like I'm stalling (which I've had plenty before), it's that I feel like my body is ready to maintain. I have lost 114 pounds and I'm not done yet. I have 56 more pounds I'd like to go. Any veterans out there that can tell me that maybe I'm just starting to really slow down, and that I'm not done losing weight. I guess I'm annoyed. You drop so much weight and then, nothing. I was eating 1200 calories and losing just fine. Now, I feel like I need to drop down to 1000 or lower to lose. I see my doctor next week, but I was hoping to hear from other's experiences. Anyone out there that can make me feel better??

Help for stalls
I like MFP too. It does help to show me that I am progressing.

Who is that?
I recognize myself because I had been up and down on my weight before, but what I can't get use to, is that I'm not 320lbs anymore. I still think that way. I feel embarrassed to talk to people because I still feel like I'm heavy. I have to remind myself I'm not that same person anymore. I don't want to take some classes at the gym because I think people will laugh at how huge I am, but this is not the case now. Still working on it

Let's see some before and afters people! And some stats!

I used to be a Starbucks regular.
I never use to like Starbucks, but I became hooked on the unsweetened iced coffee with skim milk. I love it, I love it, I love it!!!! The only thing I hate is that it does have some calories, but it gives me that extra jolt of energy I need.

Question about gas...
I know! I hate it when I'm working out at the gym and i'm having to hold it in. It hurts! I guess its just part of what we have to live with

Question about gas...
Anyone have gas pretty much all the time? This just started for me, I would say a couple of months ago (Im 21 weeks post op). It never fails, it seems like my digestive system just hates me now. I never use to have a problem and now, its getting annoying. Help?!

Onederland!
I bet that feels incredible!

Really Freaked Out
It depends on your doctor and what they say, but at 3 weeks you should be eating only mushy foods (like applesauce, mashed potatoes and eggs). I would drink only water at this point, but talk to your doctor. I just started a few weeks ago eating 1000-1200 calories and I'm 21 weeks out. I would say call your surgeon, maybe talk to the dietician. It will help you feel better.

What is your favorite form of exercise?
Mine would have to be running. What about yours? What do you like to do to get in shape?

I Hate Stalls!
You too?! That snacking is killing me right now. But, I do count it in my calories so I know I'm not going over by too much. Hopefully something will break our stalls!

Stretched?
I use to feel the same way, but believe me it takes a heck of a lot more to stretch out your pouch or sleeve. I talked with my doctor about it and they said that snacking (eating upwards of 3000 calories), drinking calorie drinks all the time, or just plain going back to the way you were eating before you decided to get surgery, will cause you to gain. Mushy foods aren't going to do that at all!!! You may just be feeling some head hunger. I would wait 20 mins after eating and see how you feel. Good Luck!

Approved!
Not a sleever, but so happy for you! You're life is going to change right before your eyes

Being a fat lady at a skinny gym...
Just walk in there with your head held high! You're doing something better for you and your health, who's going to judge you. And, if they do, it says way more about them than you! I went in at 320lbs, but I was doing it to make myself healthier. You can do the same. Good luck!

I Hate Stalls!
Anyone else going through a stall right now? I just can't get that stupid scale to move!

RNY caused me to lose my friends
This says volumes about them, and nothing about you. I lost friends back in college when I lost 30lbs and was really thin. I know it's hard to lose them as friends, but you don't need that negativity in your life when you're going through something as serious as losing weight. I'm sorry you're having a hard time. Hopefully you'll meet some great people who support you in every way!

Question for the ladies
It's ok to have it time to time but all in moderation. But try to eat proteins to fill yourself so you don't go for the bad carbs when you have cravings. Hope this helps.'btw are you on mfp? Yes I am! I'm Lilchickpea.

Question for the ladies
I crave things like pretzels and popcorn. I have had both, and they don't bother my stomach. I have them maybe once in awhile, but just before my period I want them so bad. Maybe I will try eating more proteins and see if that helps me curb my appetite.

Question for the ladies
How does your menstrual cycle effect your eating? It's a week before mine, and I'm just starving. I am craving carbs like crazy, and all I want to do is eat. This is going to mess me up! How do you girls deal with it?
