  1. I am 10 months out and was having constant hypoglycemia that started month four. After seeing many Endocrinology doctors and numerous tests I finally figured out it is my body's form of dumping syndrome and when I eat anything over 7-8 grams of sugar it makes me drop like a rock exactly an hour and a half later. I have to be VERY careful. I also drop 15-20 minutes into any exercise so I have to drink juice or eat glucose tablets. Definitely buy a monitor and track everything!

    Anybody Stricture!

You are put under and they put a scope down your throat. And they use a tiny balloon to stretch it out.

    Anybody Stricture!

Good luck today! It does get better so think positive thoughts. In a few months you will be looking back on this and will say it was still worth it.

    Anybody Stricture!

How are you doing? I had a stricture at 7 weeks out. It was 97% closed and I couldnt eat anything but yogurt and cottage cheese without pain. They did the balloon stretching but perforated the stricture. I had open emergency surgery so they could revise the opening. It definitely wasnt fun at all.

Low Blood Sugar 3 times this week

I am going thru the same thing. I was off my diabetes meds before surgery due to the preop diet. I noticed it two weeks ago when I almost passed out in my water arobics class. My A1C is very low compared to my last one so they think its been going on for a couple of months. After tracking I have noticed that I start getting symptoms under a reading of 80: headache is number one, weakness, shaky, anxious, light headed, dizziness and the urge to just eat and eat. Now that I know the symptoms I realize that it was happening a lot but didn't put it all together. When I get under 60 I get confused, disoriented and feel like I am going to pass out. I have to test my sugar constantly to stay on top of it. I have added more fiber to my diet and have been eatting more complex carbs and it seems to be a little better but still happens. I am having to eat three meals and three snacks a day and sometimes eatting doesn't bring it back up and I have to use the glucose tablets. After an ER trip, talking with my bariatric surgeons office multiple times they r calling it delayed or late dumping syndrome. I have a scope scheduled on the 16th to look at the opening to the small intestines. If the food is falling out to quickly because the opening is to big it hits the small intestine then the pancreas releases insulin which drops the blood sugar. I am hoping the opening is fine and it's just my body adjusting to losing 80 pounds in 4 months because this would be my 2nd revision surgery.. I had a stricture at 7 weeks out that they perforated trying to dialate it open. I could possibly have the complete opposite problem now. But it is all still worth it and I would do it all again if I had to.
  6. I am 4 months out and was going thru the same thing. I talked to my diatician and increased my calories to 1000-1100 because I wasnt eatting enough. I was constantly hungry and found myself snacking a lot. I started working out 5 days a week and my body was in starvation mode. Now I use my fitness pal and track every single thing that goes into my mouth and all of my activities. I have only one protien shake a day by primer protien bc its 30g of protien a day and only 1g of sugar. I love all their flavors. Usually I have it for breakfast with a greek yogurt. I also plan every single meal and snack for the day and put it in my fitness pal the day before. If its not in my lunch box or recorded in my fitness pal it doesn't touch my lips. Someone told me this and it has really been my montra and what keeps me so on track and dedicated to the daily planning: If you fail to plan you plan to fail. And since I have been living by this the last few weeks the scale has been finally moving.

    Does everyone do this

You need to see your doctor ASAP!! At 7 weeks out from my RNY I started having major problems like this and it turned out I had a stricture. I ended up in emergency surgery because it was 97% closed and they perforated it trying to stretch it out. The sooner they catch it the better.

How long before you returned to work?

I had my RNY on September 22nd and I was off three weeks and went back to my desk job. Then a few weeks later I had major complications and had emergency surgery on November 12th and I was off for 8 weeks. First surgery was laparoscopic and super easy. Second surgery they had to open me up abruptly and it was the worst recovery imaginable.
