goodbye got a reaction from BeagleLover in Losing Too Much Pre-op for Sleeve
I have BCBS and I'm not required to do a med supervised diet! Double check your med policy! Either way, the doc usually sends your initial BMI but from what I hear the diet is supposed to show that you can't drop a "normal" amount of weight through dieting (25+ lbs). If I were you, I would put in a little less effort the next few months to be on the safe side...

goodbye got a reaction from Teachamy in extreme hair loss
After seeing SO MANY threads about this topic, I decided to consult a dermatologist and surgeon about this. They both told me that of course everyone is different but that ultimately it is something that CAN'T be avoided no matter how many pills and products you use. They said that with surgery your body goes through shock and is looking for any kind of resource in your body to stabilize. The body is losing nutrients with surgery and it takes a while for the body to adjust which is why the amount of Protein you take doesn't matter initially and why the Hair loss lasts a couple of months. It's going to take a few months for the body (and hormones) to stabilize and get back to normal and then your hair starts growing back. Initially I was concerned because I've always had long hair and pride myself in my hair but I also have PCOS which causes my hair to come out in chunks, luckily I don't have any bald spots but it's something that I'm use to so for me a couple more months of hair loss in exchange for weight loss and a new, healthier version of myself is something I'll gladly deal with! Plus, I already have my weave picked out if needed lol.
