  1. I was sleeved April 4, 2014. I have lost 57 pounds since my pre-op diet. I am really getting nervous that I am going to stretch out my sleeve and fail miserably. I find myself cheating, here and there. I get so mad and disappointed in myself! It's a slippery path downward... And I am going down! I am struggling to accept my new relationship with food. I find myself eating just because I haven't eaten and not because I am hungry. I don't want to fail at this...

    starting T25

Let me know what u think about the t25. I have seen it advertised so many times and I am really considering getting it! Good Luck!
  4. Has anyone tried Hormel "rev" pre-made Wraps with 19 grams of protein?
  5. I didn't follow my post op diet very well. I stayed on fluids for the first week, after that I Slowly began adding foods. I would try a few bites of grits, refried beans, eggs and chicken. I would chew it and chew it until it was pretty much liquid. I listened to my sleeve, if I felt uncomfortable then I would know that my sleeve wasn't ready for that food. I am also obsessed with chewing ice! It helps me a lot when I want ice cream or have mental hunger. Keep up ur good work!

    Salad

That's the thing, when I have eaten chicken I have chewed it until it's pretty much a purée. I listen to my stomach, the moment I feel full, I stop. I haven't vomited or had any issues really, other than feeling sick to my stomach drinking protein shakes.

    Salad

Does anyone know if eating regular food at 20 days post op will mess up ur sleeve? I mean foods like baked chicken, green peas. I am able to eat these things but stop as soon as I feel full, and it's only a small amount.

    Advice Needed!

I made my shakes with water and still couldn't handle them! I am able to eat yogurt pretty easily. Guess I will try the shakes again in a few days.
  15. I had my surgery on 4/4/14. I had no problems drinking clear liquids and staying hydrated. On Saturday I moved to phase 2- full liquids. I was only able to drink 1 protein shake the whole day. It made me feel horrible. ( I drank it slow different times of the day) The shake sent me to the bathroom where I just gagged a few times, and also sent me to the bathroom for the "other end". Sunday I just suck to yogurt which didn't make me feel sick but it also immediately sent me to the bathroom. Yesterday for breakfast and lunch it was yogurt, which just rushed me to the bathroom. Last night for my family's dinner I made baked pork chops and boiled potatoes. I decided to break the rules and take a few bites of the pork chop. I chew it and chewed it. In about 45 min. I ate about a half of a pork chop and a couple bites of potatoes. The "regular" food stayed down with not sick feeling, and it didn't send me running to the bathroom. How strange is this?? Then I start getting paranoid after reading on the forums about people who went to have the surgery but the doctor didn't "really" do the sleeve. So now I am scared my doctor didn't really do it! Am I just being crazy???

    Advice Needed!

I just find it so strange that the foods I am supposed to be eating right now make me sick! The foods I am not supposed to be eating because my stomach is still healing are way easier for me to eat!! I even tried grits today (very runny) but they didn't sit well with me either and made me feel sick.

Thanks guys! I just found it strange that the regular food was tolerated better than the other stuff I had been eating.

    April sleevers in mexico

    Congrats! Good luck!!
  19. Okay. So I completely understand Debbie sharing her experience on the forum to "warn people". My question is why did a representative of MBC post confidential medical information about Debbie on a public forum? I understand that Mexico may not have the same laws protecting medical information but with Sourcis being the parent company and American that they would have to protect the patients medical records and could not release them without permission or court order. Maybe it's me thinking this?
  20. Had Dr. Cabrera in 4/4! He did an awesome job! You guys will be super happy with him!
  21. That's a really good idea trying to coordinate a support person with another sleever! I had my surgery in 4/4/14. A friend of mine had it done in August and she went with me. She actually did hers alone, and was just fine. After experiencing it myself, going alone is no big deal. Most important thing is to notify your airlines on your return so you can get handicap assistance thru the airports! Good luck!

    April sleevers in mexico

I had my surgery at Mi Doctor on 04/04/14 by Dr. Cabrera. My experience was good. The difficult part now is trying to figure out what liquids my body can process. Right now my body doesn't like protein shakes!
