I think you answered your own question… you're a sugar addict and an emotional eater which means you're going to need a tool in your journey as drastic and powerful as the forces working against your success.
Before I committed, I decided that for me, I couldn't live the life I wanted if I stayed big. My weight was hurting me in big and small ways. It hurt that my PCOS means my husband and I struggle with having kids… all the way to it hurt when young children look at me weird and when I dread going clothes shopping and when I have to ask for the seat belt extender in the plane.
Is being physically limited in portion hard sometimes? Truthfully yes, I went out to lunch with my boss and he's like wow that's all you're eating. I just told him i'm on a disciplined diet (TRUTH! lol) Would I love to go to an all you can eat pig bar and chow down sometimes? Sure.
But am I willing to give up that for a healthy life with better health, better looks, better physical relationships, more confidence, more energy, more joy, more opportunities to do the things i want to do. It's a trade, but one that was worth it for me, I'd do it again in a heartbeat and I regret not doing it sooner.
Good luck to you in making your decision for yourself.
Thinking of surgery, Can you relate?
