Monday is the big day...finally!
So bypass is scheduled for 8/11. Yesterday got pre-registered at the hospital and final blood work drawn. Not looking forward to Sunday - colon prep, ya know Thanks to all the awesome people here at BariatricPal (plus my pre-op program), I feel like I'm the most educated patient I can be. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers - I will do the same for you.

Psych Appointment tomorrow....nervous!
My favorite ridiculous question: "If I were a painter, I would enjoy painting flowers." Seriously, what the hell?

Psych Appointment tomorrow....nervous!
Maybe you could do the test over a couple of days. And be upfront with your psychiatrist - you can't be the first person with ADHD to have to do this, you know?

My experience with Dumping
SOME sleeve patients do dump, but it's much more common for bypass patients. At least that's what we learned in pre-op class.

Two days post-op
Glad to hear you're doing fairly well.

Clear Liquids Post Op
I think it depends on your doctor. In my program we're on clear liquids for 10 days post op, so you're not alone.

New to this forum
Welcome! I also went back and forth about which surgery to choose. The sleeve seems less scary, but I went with bypass due to my diabetes. Your surgeon can help you make the decision also.

"My special food"
I can see where you're coming from - so frustrating! But kudos to your kids for eating some healthy stuff

Deciding on a surgery
I originally thought I would go with the sleeve. It just seemed less scary, you know? Eventually switched to bypass because it's been around longer and helps with a greater % of weight loss. Also my doctor nudged me toward a bypass due to my diabetes. Really looking forward to not taking Metformin anymore! Your surgeon knows you best and can help you decide. Good luck!

Surgery Aug 7th
I'm not having revision (just having bypass 8/11) but would love some surgery buddies. Good luck to you both!

Terrified of failure!
We ALL fail because we are human. If we never failed we would be perfect little robots and the world would be quite boring! We learned in pre-op class that it's what you do AFTER you fail that can change you. For example, after you eat something you shouldn't, you can beat yourself up about it and feel guilty...or you can say "hey, I messed up, but I'm picking myself up and trying again, damn it!" A simple walk around the block can get you in the right mind-set.

Today is the day....
Fingers crossed - you'll do great!
