  1. @VSG_Man_Vs_Food My recommendations are an extra pair or underwear, and the helpful suggestion to never trust a fart. I also felt that using GasEx strips were very helpful in decreasing the discomfort associated with the gas used during the surgery. Good Luck on you journey!

  2. Most certainly, your tastes and tolerance change. Since my sleeve, I actually crave bacon, something I abhorred before my surgery. I loved ice cream before and now my body and my GI tract do not agree with it, especially chocolate ice cream.

  3. @TheBearguy8 rest assured, your fears are all in your mind. Don't overthink things. Yes, having an active sex life is possible post surgery. In fact, if memory serves me right, about week 10 I had a surge in desiring sex, and nearly wore my partner out. As far as getting enough fiber in your diet, yes that is possible, but always more important is getting enough liquids, getting dehydrated can spell doom to the GI system.

  4. I will not brag, but my surgery cost me $4400 and a plane ticket to and from San Diego. I am unfortunate to work for a hospital that performs bariatric surgery, is a Bariatric Center of Excellence, and forces employees to undergo biometric screenings, and based on those result, force unhealthy, overweight employees to pay more in insurance, but DOES NOT COVER BARIATRIC SURGERY (it is specifically written into the insurance plan). My sister, who had her surgery about 6 months before I decided, put me in touch with this site, and the Mexican surgery forum. I found my surgeon, after careful consideration and from January 2015 (from finding out my insurance didn't cover it) to my surgery on March 2, 2015, is all the only waiting I had to do. I did inform my PCP and he was okay with it and agreed to do my follow up. Now 2 years later, no regret... just wish I would have done this earlier.

  5. I would highly recommend Dr Elias Ortiz, from A Lighter Me... As an ICU nurse I had high standards for the surgeon who would do my sleeve. I am nearly 2 years out, and am highly satisfied with my results and the people and staff, at the hospital, A Lighter Me and the hotel, you stay at, are awesome. Since I have had my surgery, and the results I've had, my brother in law, my nephew, a co-worker of my sister and a friend of mine have had surgery with A Lighter Me, and I've heard nothing but positive results. Good luck on your journey!
