    Body Hair

I agree with some, it may be heighten testosterone levels, as it is stored in your fat and as you loose weight it gets dumped. Some might also experience an increased libido, when this dump occurs. Also, as your skin shrinks, your hair follicles move closer together, making your hair somewhat more dense... I feel this happened to me on you stomach/chest and my back (cue the Sasquatch image).. sadly it did not occur to my head... good luck and let us know your lab results

    Need some advice

Stalls happen, even after any weight loss surgery. You sure seem to have a good grasps on things. Good luck with your weight loss adventure!!! I'd say it becomes easier, but after 3 years, it is still the same battle each and every day. It is the choices you make...

Sometimes we have to sink to the lowest of lows, before we can see our own personal motivation for change. Mine wasn't y mom having a heart attack, diabetes, a stroke, and ending up loosing her battle with life. Mine came, when on new years eve 3 years ago, my dad had his heart attack... I knew I had to do something.... I wish you all the best on your quest for a new and healthy you... Stay strong

Any other gay sleevers out there?

@three79 I've been holding my own for the past 2 years... My advice, take advantage of this time (the first 6-12 months on average) is your most weight loss... Take Pictures.... because they will show your progress... besides the scale... I remember waking up one morning, looking into the mirror, and say, 'who is that guy'? Keep us posted on your progress.

    Surgery next week

As others have said... walk, walk, walk... it is one of the most beneficial things you can do immediately after surgery. Yes, prepare yourself for the liquids and post op diet regimen. I would also stress, Follow your Pre Op diet plan. Most programs provide it, and you owe it to yourself to follow it. Now, for some personal suggestions. Be prepared for stalls, they happen, do not get frustrated, your body is adjusting to the lower calorie intake . Don't trust your scale. HUH??? you might say? Take body measurements, they can sometimes be more truthful. Speaking of scales, Only weigh yourself on poop days, if you must weigh yourself. Why??? You are drinking water and trying to get your protein in, it is going to cause you to be less then regular. I've had friends, who have had surgery not go in 4-5 days... again prepare... Finally. okay maybe not, as I am sure others might add to this or make something I might have forgotten.... Never Ever Trust a Fart. Good luck on your journey....

    Bummed

I totally understand. I am a nurse and I work for a hospital that does bariatric surgery, but the exclude employees. Keep looking and I would encourage you to look at all your options. I ended up going to Mexico for my surgery.

    Meaty Meltdown

I rarely eat steak, but my go to protein is a nice lean, boneless chicken breast or some pork loin. I've baked a chicken breast, cut it open, added some cheese, wrapped in bacon... easily 2 meals.... tonight, made pork loin chops, pounded thin, added a slice of lean ham, a slice of Swiss cheese, folded it over, a light egg wash, some panko break crumbs, baked... delicious... my first meal, after surgery, was a Monterrey cheese burger, no bun, from Whataburger... I could only eat less then a quarter of it... had 3 more meals from it.... can honestly say, I haven't been back.... good luck on your journey!

    Gas?!

Since you are only 2 days post op, I would recommend something mild.... yes walk walk walk, and drink your fluids, NO STRAW!!! . Try to find some simethicone tablets. As the old adage goes, 'even this shall pass'... It isn't the path you are on, it is your journey... Things will get better...
  14. You're doing great!!! Keep your focus on winning the war, not the daily, weekly, monthly battles of the scale... Good luck on your journey!

@Flost9823 this early in your recovery, it could easily be dumping syndrome, but then again, I have had a few friends who have become lactose intolerant post surgery. Good luck on your journey and welcome to the club!

Hello @Dabearo , It would be nice to see this group become more active. Especially in light that it is June and we should all be celebrating being PROUD... Hope everyone is enjoying themselves and loosing, maintaining and appreciating the new life they have been given.

@Joe in Texas we all make mistakes, it is just the rationalization that we need to learn from them. I wish you all the best on your newest journey.
