    missing sex

    So???? How is sex now???
  2. I have been experimenting with different protein drinks after surgery.... so far... they all have a chalky taste, but not bad. I even tried some protein drink mixes. I am hoping to have similar results like yourself.... 30 pounds in about a month isn't bad. My personal goal is to loose a good amount by August. My employer does employee bio-metrics in August and bases our individual health insurance cost based on our results. I currently pay a nearly $100/month penalty for being too short and having a larger waist size. If I show progress or normalcy I get a discount on my insurance. So this along with a healthier me is giving me the motivation I need. Well I hope to hear more on your continued success!!! Thanks for the reassurances @@shizwiz
  3. @@2/2015RN I get to the Marriott on March 1... Hope to see you there and your progress!!!
  4. @@shizwiz Hope your journey continues to go well!!! Getting ready myself... March 2nd can't get here soon enough!!!
  5. Who ever you choose.. I look forward to hearing about your successful surgery!!!
  6. Mi hospital has a 2 bed ICU (again no different than most US Surgical Centers) and has an in house radiology, endoscopy and modern sterilization facilities. These are questions I asked my patient coordinator and Dr Elias. Hope this helps... Good luck
  7. @@SleevedNFree I have tried the Premier Protein as well, I like the chocolate. In my pre op plan, it calls for using a laxative. I am particular to the bulk forming laxatives and plan to use them post op if needed. Pre-op it will help with the hungry feeling and helps with regularity issues... you can also use colace or similar drugs. I hope this helps.
  8. I am having my surgery done at Mi hospital in Tijuana. It is fully serviced hospital... as earlier described. It is no different than other surgical centers in the US. I am not choosing the hospital, but the doctor and in my search, Dr Elias Ortiz, performs the surgery I want. He not only staples but over sews the staple line. He and his staff have been more than up front with expectations and risks. I understand that the hospital may not have all the bells and whistles of a major medical center in the States. Further, his reviews on this site and others come across as genuine and positive. I have yet to read a negative review on him. I will gladly update on the results of my surgery and add first hand comments to the care I receive at the hospital. I wish you all the best in making your decision to pursue a healthier you.
  9. I am using Dr Elias Ortiz. I am scheduled for March 2. I have been a nurse for 27 working in the ICU. I have read the reviews and Dr Ortiz's qualifications. I am very confident that I am making the right choice. Good luck in your search.. and good luck with your surgery!

    March Sleevers

Going to be a good month to get sleeved!!! I am so looking forward to it!!!
  11. Jenn... Yes if the surgery cost $4600 and you put your $500 deposit, the remaining balance is $4200. I have paid mine and the receipt I received in the mail shows I owe $3900 (In Feb and March A Lighter Me is offering a spring discount of $200). Hope this helps!!! Good luck with your surgery!!! Oh and your deposit is securing the date you pick, if you can't get airfare or need another date, I am sure they will be willing to work with you!
  12. Nurse here, work nights in an ICU. Getting sleeved March 2 in Mexico, because my 'wonderful' insurance wont cover it.
  13. You should arrive to the hotel on March 5th and I'll be in recovery phase @@skeptictrash1 I wish you all the best!!!
  14. Good luck @@sashamp Wishing you all the best!!! and can't wait to hear about your successful surgery!

    My Texas Sleevers

    March 2nd here, Justin/Ponder/Argyle area.
  16. @Vikingsfan8178 I feel you angst, I have been over weight most of my life, a few extra pounds here, a few extra pounds there. I have been successful with weight loss, but eventually gain it back, and then some. I hate the yo-yo of my life. My adventure in WLS started way before I joined this forum, it was enhanced when my sister had successful Sleeve last July, but it was my dad recent open heart bypass that had me. My mom had died of complications from her heart disease. I did not want to become a cardiac cripple, like I have seem way to many times. I am a nurse, been working in various ICU's for years (okay 27 years). I don't think of it as a personal loss, but a step up to the limitlessness potential of a healthier and more active me.
  17. Thanks @@wantingabetterlife so far the whole process has been awesome.
  18. Good Luck HarleyGuy... I get sleeved March 2... I look forward to hearing about your successful surgery and your feedback!!! Let us know how things go!
  19. My sleeve is scheduled for March 2 in Tijuana and I will be going alone. I have read way to many testimonials on this forum that speak how safe it is. Good luck!!!
  20. I got financing through good old Master Card. LOL... The 3% fee and the 9.9% interest on the card is cheaper than any financing that I could find. Good luck @Andrea

I confirmed on Monday, March 2 going to get sleeved!
  22. I specifically asked Katy, with A Lighter Me, and yes Dr Elias Ortiz does do both staples with suture oversew.
  23. I will be staying at the Marriott in Tijuana the nights of March 1 and March 4th and 5th. Would be great to compare our successful surgeries and provided support as well! Yes excited here as well @@SleevedNFree
  24. I am scheduled for March 2 by Dr Elias Ortiz in Tijuana Mexico
  25. @@katyh2015 My surgery is going to be in Tijuana, Mexico. It is going to cost $4400. I get one night in the hospital pre-op, two nights in the hospital and two additional nights in a hotel for recovery before I fly back to Texas. I have already sampled some Protein drinks... any help or personal suggestions are welcomed. Since we are on the subject, what kind of bullion/broth is everyone trying???
