    March Sleevers

I think I had hit my '3 week stall' a bit early... Last week I was stuck at 37-38 pounds loss. Today the scales says I lost over 2 pounds from the day before. So glad to have had the sleeve. My energy level is even higher than before surgery. My clothes are very noticeably loose on me and my belt needs new holes punched in it or I need to buy a new one. My only set back was coming down with strep throat 1 week post op. Just taking things one day at a time. Today I get to start ground meat.... YAY... something not pureed or liquid.

@ I had my sleeve 15 days ago. I did stay 2 days in the hospital, the day after surgery you have your leak test and then comes the liquids. (I also had a drain in, which came out the day I was discharged.) Once you start drinking you never know how you will tolerate liquids, so again the extra day is yours for a cushion. I also took 2 weeks off, I am trying to have my time off qualify for short term disability (a benefit I pay for at work). I know I probably could not have gone back to work last week, but feel much stronger this week and I actually look forward to going to work (I work 12 hour night shifts in a fairly busy ICU). I am on a weight restriction for 6 weeks (35 pound limit). Hope this helps! Good luck!!!

To all those having surgery today. I wish you all the best and hope to hear your success stories!!!! HAPPY ST PATRICK's DAY!!!!
  7. I work in an ICU. I am post op day 10, I go back to work next Wednesday Night (I work 12 hour night shifts). My weight restrictions are no more than 35 pounds for 2 months. To prevent incisional herniation! Good luck @@TMG1980TMG

Anyone else ever shop at DXL?

@Jerr-Bear I feel your shame. I am a creature of habit. I buy the same pants, underwear, shoes and socks. This might be bland shopping habits, but I detest even going into a store to buy clothes. I have been lucky to purchase my 'fat clothes' on line, and fear now that I am post op, that I will have to do it all over again. Good luck with your journey!

@ Spicy06.... good to hear you are doing better! I am on post op day 10. I feel no hunger and am still struggling to get my 100 grams of protein in a day. But today is a better day. I feel like I'll finally make the 100 gram goal. Liquids are going down good and feeling pretty good (actually just got inside from making a plant bed border, digging up some grass and putting weed barrier down, and planting 2 Goji berry plants - yes my spouse helped, but it felt good being outside doing stuff). I lost 21 pounds on the pre-op diet and 12 pounds since surgery. Making progress!!!

@@Spicy06 Congrat's.... I am 6 days post op, have had very little problems since surgery. I was up walking 15 minutes after I got back to my room, from surgery. WALK WALK WALK and be patient. My doctor did allow me to have the most delicious ice chips while I waited from my leak test. Once you've past that obstacle... drink drink drink!!!! Wishing you the best of luck!
  13. Hello everyone... I returned home late last night from my life changing experience. My surgery was on Monday March 2 and I am feeling pretty good this morning (getting a good night sleep in my own bed helped). I succumbed to the scale this morning and I am down a nice 4 more pounds since my pre-op weight and a total of 25 pounds since I started my pre-op diet. I am 1/4th my weigh to my goal weight.

    Getting nervous!

My surgery is only 5 days away... at this time... it couldn't get here fast enough... Although I am surviving my pre-op diet, it am so OVER the same salad. I do wish you all the best!!!
  21. I am an ICU nurse, been doing this for 27 years. I feel I have done my due diligence and interviewed and assessed multiple processes and surgeons. I am very confident that I have made the right decision, I will be having my sleeve by Dr Elias Ortiz on Monday March 2, through A Lighter Me. My process might be different from anyone else... and my criteria might be different than other. I am NOT a spokesperson for any doctor or organization. I believe in trust and honesty. Again, I feel I have made the right decision for me. Now back to your regular program.... LOL
  22. @@faithhopelove Yes Dr Ortiz over sews his staple line. I asked when I called with my list of questions. March 2 can't get here fast enough... TICK TOCK... TICK TOCK!!!!
