Hi .... I was banded on April 6th... I have lost 16 pounds... but most of that was from the liquids.. I have yoyo'd the past month.. I have had 3 fills... the first 1.5cc's.. 2 weeks later I went back for another and they found that I only had .5cc's in my band... 1.0 cc's disappeared... they put in another 1.5 cc's.. which should have brought me to which should have brought me to 2.0cc's... went back 2 weeks later for #3 and I only had 1.0 cc in my band... they put another 1.0 cc's in and I do actually feel a slight restriction... If the restriction doesn't get any tighter I plan on going back next week for fill #4... it is getting a bit frustrating with having to have so many fills to try to get to that "sweet spot".... but I am willing to do what I have to do...

Hi.. I have three children... 22, 19 and 10... they are all very thin... who knew... I was always worried about them when they were younger.. I always had a weight problem.. I never forced them to eat.. when dinner was ready.. if they didn't want it or weren' t hungry I didn't make them eat.. they ate when they were hungry.. today.. they still eat when they are hungry.. I don't know if its because of they way I brought them up or just a fluke... my youngest was really big as a baby.. but we found out that was because of a problem with his pituartary gland.. (he has CP).. he had to have a feeding tube inserted in November because he was really under weight.. (46lbs @10) Only time will tell if they will follow their mom... ttfn

Hi Heather... I am almost 2 months out and have had 2 fills.. with no real restriction yet!.. I was eating "because I could".. I had it in my mind that since I still had no restriction and I could eat what I wanted that I "better" now because soon I won't be able too... If that makes any sense... but 2 days ago it dawned on me.. what am I doing .. I am just sabotaging myself.. this is a tool and I have to learn to work with it... so I have been watching myself and steering away from the goodies and I am down 2 1/2 pounds in 2 days... I am feeling so much better about myself... stop beating yourself up... we "are" in No Mans Land right now... it will happen... you have to tell yourself that and believe it ... in the meantime... todays a new day and go with it!!!! Your not alone....

~OMG~ How insensitive can he get!!... No matter what you accomplish in your life he should be the "ONE" person you can turn to for support! I think you should copy this whole thread and hang it on your refrigerator so he can read what a butt head he is!!! Just my two cents!

Hi Vera...Yes my fill was done with fluoroscopy... I was able to see everything... I didn't notice any problem and my Doctor didn't seem to be concerned... I just don't understand how 1cc can disapear and get another 1.5 and not have any kind of restriction... thanks for your reply... I will have to discuss this with my Doc. next time I see her...

Hi..I had my second fill on Tues. my doctor pulled out the first fill first and only got out .5 out of a 1.5 fill two weeks ago... she put in another 1.5 on tues. with flouro... I saw a restriction.. but two days later ... nothing... no restriction... I am afraid I have a leak.. how do they know if you have a leak...? how do they test for that? Oh.. by the way.. good luck on Sat. ... I will be thinking of you...

Hi Everyone... I am new to these message boards... just a quickie about me... I live on Eastern Long Island.. I am married and have 3 great kids... I was banded by Dr. Rubenstein on April 6, 2005... had my first fill last week... still have no restriction... have another appt. for May 31st for my 2nd fill... I am praying for restriction!! I am looking forward to meeting you all!! TTFN

Hi Julie.... Yes.. I know where Cooperstown and Oneonta are.. I have in-laws up near Binghampton and Pheonix... I have been to Cooperstown.... many years ago... when my kids were really little.. they are in there 20's now... my little one is 10... So.. we are all 40 something... cool... yep.. just gets better and better huh!

Hi Robyn... please stop beating yourself up... I only had to do liquids for 1 week prior to my surgery... 4/6/05.... It was really tough and I did sneak a few pretzels here and there...my BMI is also 39... and once my surgery was done and I was home less than 24 hours I was crying on my hubbys shoulder..."What have I done"... that passed pretty quickly when I realized "Why" I did this in the first place... I am now 7 weeks out with one fill... (go for my second on the 31st)... and I can eat anything right now.. its terrible.. I have no control and I have no restriction...but I know it will happen... I will get to that sweetspot and be on the loosing side... so stop beating yourself up... you will be fine.. and you have to just remember you are doing this for you and your family... you will be a healthier you! So.. good luck with your surgery... I will be thinking of you.. let me know how you make out!!!.... just remember to take it easy and let your body heal itself!!!... God Bless....

Hi... just wanted to put my 2 cents in here.... I was banded on April 6th, 2005... I recently had lunch out with my husband.. he always orders diet coke and I always get water... well... for some strange reason I picked up his diet coke and took a sip.. just a sip.. and boy was I sorry... I will never do that again... believe me you won't miss the soda if you experiance that feeling just once... TTFN
