    Sleeve to Roux en Y

I never had the sleeve but went straight to RNY. I've not had any issues with drinking my liquids. I have some discomfort on the left side but I could handle it. Everyone is different, just keep one foot in front of the other and your eyes on success! You can do it!!!

    Pre Op

A great choice for an extra tool in this fight that we are all in against obesity. When in doubt...walk the halls tonight.
  6. I shopped at Khols yesterday and bought size 24 jeans and before surgery I was only able to shop online. I started at 453 and now at 277.

    July RNY Page

I'm doing really good as well. Since 7/30 I've lost 88lbs and 87 before my surgery. The best thing that I've had happen is that the freedom I experience everyday is amazing.

    please tell me the truth

I use a low carb tortilla with a smidge of pizza quick. Low fat mozzarella and turkey pepperoni. I blot any oil after I cook it and I can eat about 1/2 a small tortilla. Pizza to me

  12. Same here on the airy drinks. You are right, when I let them sit for awhile the foam dissipates and then I can drink without problems. It seems worse when I used any milk base

    Pre Op Liquid Diet Blues

I was on my liquid pre-op for 3 weeks. Post surgery was 3 more liquid weeks. When you remember why you are doing this, it makes it easier. You can do it!!! Try to remember that this is a marathon not a sprint.

    Almost Flunking my C25k? Rats!

I've download the app and am a bit afraid to start. My weight is 339 and my knees are not too happy still. However I have come this far and promised myself that fear would no longer rule my life. I'll start tonight.
  16. My surgery weight was 372 and while I struggle when I'm too weak, I have not needed assistance. Since I couldn't lift right away my sister took out the trash. I do think that just in case you have complications it would be good to have someone available.

    How did you tell people?

I had some weight to lose prior to surgery approval. The people at work have watched me struggle over the last few years. I felt that I would have another support base by telling them of my plans. They have been wonderful the whole way. I'm still out on LOA until 9/10 but I get calls and texts to check on me. It been only positive for me tell people of my surgery.

    July bypass

My surgery was 7/30 and I was out in 1 day. I feel pretty good and my Protein is up to 70 gm today. I realized last night that I need to get in more liquids so that has been my focus today. A few of my glue sites look kind of questionable but I don't have a fever so I'm good. I feel really good and have not taken any pain meds.

    CA - South OC

Hi Susan, I'm Laura. My surgery was Wednesday and I got out a day early. This group is great, we are going to meet next around the middle of the month. The plan is to meet more frequently but it is a new group so being summer it's been arranging schedules. I look forward to meeting you, Give me a holler if you would like to chat. Laura

  22. I started my pre-op liquids yesterday. This is getting really close and I'm nervous. All my tests were great and I should be really excited but I'm scared. I've failed so many times. Has anyone else felt this way? I've done so much planning and preparing. I've lost 68 lbs in the last 5 months while testing so I feel ready this time.

    Bypass scheduled 7/30

Ok so it's day 9 of my pre-op liquid. I have 13 days till surgery. I'm excited at this point and I've gotten comfortable with the protein shakes. This weekend I'm going out of town with my sisters, I'm on my way now.
  24. I started mine on Wednesday. Mine consists of 4 shakes and 1 lettuce salad if I need it. I'm behind on Protein today but I'll catch-up.
