  4. I never had the sleeve but went straight to RNY. I've not had any issues with drinking my liquids. I have some discomfort on the left side but I could handle it. Everyone is different, just keep one foot in front of the other and your eyes on success! You can do it!!!
  5. A great choice for an extra tool in this fight that we are all in against obesity. When in doubt...walk the halls tonight.
  6. I shopped at Khols yesterday and bought size 24 jeans and before surgery I was only able to shop online. I started at 453 and now at 277.
  7. I'm doing really good as well. Since 7/30 I've lost 88lbs and 87 before my surgery. The best thing that I've had happen is that the freedom I experience everyday is amazing.
  8. I'm 4 months out, no problems.
  9. I use a low carb tortilla with a smidge of pizza quick. Low fat mozzarella and turkey pepperoni. I blot any oil after I cook it and I can eat about 1/2 a small tortilla. Pizza to me
  10. Barimelts, a newer company but great!!!
  11. Same here on the airy drinks. You are right, when I let them sit for awhile the foam dissipates and then I can drink without problems. It seems worse when I used any milk base
  12. What about the fat content in pork rinds?
  13. I was on my liquid pre-op for 3 weeks. Post surgery was 3 more liquid weeks. When you remember why you are doing this, it makes it easier. You can do it!!! Try to remember that this is a marathon not a sprint.
  14. I've download the app and am a bit afraid to start. My weight is 339 and my knees are not too happy still. However I have come this far and promised myself that fear would no longer rule my life. I'll start tonight.
  15. My surgery weight was 372 and while I struggle when I'm too weak, I have not needed assistance. Since I couldn't lift right away my sister took out the trash. I do think that just in case you have complications it would be good to have someone available.
  16. I had some weight to lose prior to surgery approval. The people at work have watched me struggle over the last few years. I felt that I would have another support base by telling them of my plans. They have been wonderful the whole way. I'm still out on LOA until 9/10 but I get calls and texts to check on me. It been only positive for me tell people of my surgery.
  17. Oh yes, me too please...lauramae2u@yahoo.com
  18. My surgery was 7/30 and I was out in 1 day. I feel pretty good and my Protein is up to 70 gm today. I realized last night that I need to get in more liquids so that has been my focus today. A few of my glue sites look kind of questionable but I don't have a fever so I'm good. I feel really good and have not taken any pain meds.
  19. Hi Susan, I'm Laura. My surgery was Wednesday and I got out a day early. This group is great, we are going to meet next around the middle of the month. The plan is to meet more frequently but it is a new group so being summer it's been arranging schedules. I look forward to meeting you, Give me a holler if you would like to chat. Laura
  20. Great meeting tonight!!! Everyone is so easy to talk to and generous with support. I really am glad that I found this group! If anyone is looking for a group in South OC California, check this one out.
  21. Ok so it's day 9 of my pre-op liquid. I have 13 days till surgery. I'm excited at this point and I've gotten comfortable with the protein shakes. This weekend I'm going out of town with my sisters, I'm on my way now.
  22. I started mine on Wednesday. Mine consists of 4 shakes and 1 lettuce salad if I need it. I'm behind on Protein today but I'll catch-up.
  23. I haven't had my surgery yet but I don't think I could keep my family away if I wanted to. We are a close family and I'm the youngest at 52. Each of my sisters have indicated that they will be at the hospital as well as some friends. I'm ok with that as long as they don't expect me to entertain them.
  24. Hi I'm on July 30! I think that I'm getting to excited and less afraid. I have read and prepared quite a bit. My pre-op liquid started last Wednesday and I'm doing just fine. .
  25. Thank you! I'll continue here because I have found a support group in my area. Look around doom, I've found a lot of current posts. You will do great. It's a long process but before you know it...it will be time. Take care.
