    New and wondering..

Sorry, I can't. I had that happen a few times when I ate and laid down soon afterwards. If it's more often, I would definitely call your surgeon. Maybe he/she can prescribe medication for it.

    New and wondering..

I don't think I can answer the question about whether or not 34lbs. is a good enough loss. Everyone is different and, therefore, not comparable. Enjoy your loss and how much better you feel.

    Vitamins?

Yes, I'm using Bariatric Advantage. My NUT thought they were the best ones. The Calcium citrate (caramel) chewables are really delicious. I look forward to taking them. I take one in the morning and one at night. I also take the ultra multi Vitamin with Iron in the middle of the day. That spaces them out nicely so the iron and calcium don't cancel each other out.

    Feeling disappointed and unsure

I was diabetic for 4 years and had the sleeve surgery done around 2 months ago. The surgeon told me my diabetes would go away in 4 days; it went away in 2 days! My co-morbidities, fatty liver and sleep apnea will be gone in 3 - 4 months after surgery. Don't worry about what that person said! Go for the sleeve.

    Stomach acid

I can't answer that, but I was given Prilosec for a month after my sleeve surgery to reduce stomach acid.
  9. Get a lot of exercise that day so you have no problem getting to sleep.
  10. Sounds like you may want to report your experience to the ASMBS. This is the group that designates hospitals as Bariatric Centers of Excellence. http://asmbs.org/
  11. This is the only Protein powder I use. Not only is there no medicinal aftertaste, it is 100% protein isolate, which is most absorbable. Thumbs up!

    Advice needed

I think that, besides the milk and yogurt, you need to get Protein powder, preferably 100% protein isolate which is most absorbable. Most nutritional pre-op programs in the United States say that you need 60 - 80 grams of protein, closer to the 80 for men. Immediately post-op I was allowed to lift no more than 25lbs. at a time. After one month, there was no restriction.
  16. I'm sure she understands that this isn't how you preferred for things to work out. Best of luck to you both!

    Following the rules

I was sleeved 2 months ago. I just can't get in my Protein quota without having 1 Protein shake in unsweetened soymilk, totaling 28 grams. So, I make it taste good with sugar free flavorings. No problem at all!

    Presurgery weight gain

@@laurenella82, I thought that until I specifically asked if the goal of the weigh in was to lose weight. It wasn't. So, I suggest asking about it.
  22. @Skywalker. It was a lot easier for me right after surgery if I combined my need for liquids with the requirement for Protein. I drank the Isopure clear drinks with 40 grams of protein.
