My experience with Dumping
I've had similar experiences. When I asked my NUT she said higher fat foods will cause this because our new pouch can not handle all that heavy fat. It's a learning experience I guess as far as what we can tolerate. I guess it a version of dumping for sleeve patients....I definitely swear and run to bathroom after a wrong choice.

2 days out and hungry
The first week I was always hungry, especially because I was on a clear liquid only diet. I am one of the people that feels hungry often, I am struggling with that. I just try to have a good protein snack and it subsides. Also I noticed the more fluids I drink the less hungry I feel. Good luck, hang in there....

Does anyone's chest feel weird?
I have noticed a fluttering type feeling in my chest a few times since surgery. It alarmed me as well but I dismissed it as nothing only because I has a full cardio work up before surgery. It was followed by a feeling of being breathless unless that was me being scared.

New to Posting
Hi! I had my surgery on April 14th as well. Sounds like you are doing great! I think I get about 40 oz of liquid a day. I am having a hard time adjusting to this new lifestyle. Someone suggested I get unflavored protein powder and add it into things to up my protein intake. Maybe you could do that. I also love the Unjury chicken broth protein, sometimes I have it warm in a mug, it has 20g protein....

The heparin shot is a blood thinner to prevent blood clots during and after surgery, I believe. I received them as well.

1 Day Post-Op
Feel better. I did really well with IV Tylenol. I was afraid of nausea with pain meds so I asked for only Tylenol...remember sip slowly and consistently.

Back pain 6 weeks out ?
I have it too. Last night sitting at my sons school meeting I almost couldn't take it. My nurse practitioner asked if I was having back pain, she said it was common from being on the OR table for so long. Never heard the mesh theory, I'm going to ask if I have mesh in there.

I really like the calcium chews from Bariatric advantage. Amazon.com has them, I chose the caramel and they do taste like a caramel candy. I take two a day...

This is so difficult!
I am having hard time as well. I had my surgery on 4/14. I am still on liquids. 3 protein shakes/day and clear liquids in between. I now know I am a true food addict. I think about it all the time. I feel hungry often throughout the day. If you can order the Unjury chicken broth protein packs they really helped me at night when my family was eating. I have my phase change tomorrow to semi soft foods and I can't wait to sit and have a meal. I never thought I would look forward to a piece of fish and veggies! It will get better, do your best. We are all human and will slip here and there but remember why you did it and hang in there!

Doing it for your kids?
I, too, am doing this for my kids and my future. I am so tired all the time. My joints hurts, etc. I have three boys that love to be outside and play. I want to be a fun mom, and be around when they have kids....I don't want them to suffer because of my weight...my surgery date is April 14th, I am scared but I know it will be worth it!
