  1. Which ones have you tried? Which is your favorite? Where do you get it? How much do you pay?
  2. One of my main reasons for doing this...is for my kids. My date surgery will be 5/12. I would obviously like to be around as long as possible for them....but also to be a more active parent. Things like trips to the park, playing in the yard, walking around fairs, and Saturday markets, and weekend trips. I enjoy doing those thing with them...but now it feels like such a physical chore I find myself putting it off or cutting those events short. I was wondering how many other folks did it with hopes of being a more active and involved parent, Did you experience an improvement in your parenting with your weight loss? Have your kids noticed or commented on improvements?

    Any May sleevers out there?

May 8th. Any other May "guys"?
  4. I have an all-or-nothing personality. I know I can't be alone in this mentality. It's a big part of why I am overweight... I can't just cook a steak... As long as we are grillen it might as well Be a 16oz rib eye with all the BBQ fixens. If a slice of pizza is good...then half a pizza with joe joes and ranch is great! Now although this mentality has obviously helped further my obesity- it has also served me well when geared towards things that are more postive. Saving money, career goals, etc. I know I will end up channeling this mentality towards my sleeve---it's just my nature. I am looking for game plans as far as work outs and eating strategies from those who are big fast losers, that are devoted, have a high level of focus, commitment, and sacrifice---that were totally dedicated to getting the best out of their sleeve. Those who are slow losers, smaller losers, or didn't deviate from the slow and steady wins the race mentality (which I totally envy) ---their is no need to feel offended by my post as I am not knocking your process or commitment...I am just looking to connect with folks like me.
  5. Yeah... I have been offered a date.

    Rushing-

That's awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. 6 mile walk that's great...it would take me a miracle to go 6 blocks now. Last time I felt like I could take it off the old fashion way...well I did and have put it all back on.
  10. Hello, This is my second time considering the surgery. About 4 years ago I backed out when it came time to make the decision. I have been trying to rush through the process this time a bit so I can utilize the current positive attitude I have towards the idea. I have my coordinator trying to get me in (self pay) in may. With that being said...should I be putting myself on a preop diet? Also has anyone else had their surgery with Dr. Michel in Tijuana? I have been reading and researching like crazy....and lurking here for awhile! So that my first post. -JB 34 Male 287 5' 10' Oregon
