    Photo 3 month post op

    You look amazing! Congratulations!
  2. WOW!!! I love this story. Not only do you look amazing, but you look like you FEEL amazing! Congrats!
  3. I don't technically think I'm ready to have these, but the Gerber Graduates yogurt melts are my new favorite little treat. Those and the cheddar bite things (look like cheese puffs) are so good. They literally melt in your mouth. They aren't bad either. Not high in protein (only 1g) or anything, but good if you need to crunch something!

    June sleevers, check-in!

HW: 285.5 SW: 269 CW: 258 I was sleeved on 6/19. I was just able to have a bowel movement today so hopefully I'll drop a few lb's by morning! LOL!
  6. For some reason the doctor told me to stay away from gum this first week. That's all I want! For me it's a life saver, keeps my mind off of wanting something to eat. I wonder why they won't let me have it? Accidentally swallowing it, maybe? Surely one little piece or sugar free gum won't ruin my success?!?

JUNE 2014 POST OP SUPPORT GROUP!

I was sleeved on June 19 and feeling pretty great! I had a little but of a rough first day at home...horrible horrible headache, nausea, and 100.9 temp. I was in close contact with the nurse and she called me in liquid hydrocodone and a suppository for nausea. Worked like a charm! I still get the headache, but notice it's not as bad when I get my Protein in. Today is day 5 and I'm feeling hungry, which makes me feel defeated. I wonder what I'm doing wrong? I have sf Popsicles and broth, sip on liquids (1 oz every 15 min), plus drink the nasty protein. I see the surgeon on Thursday and hopefully will progress to full liquid. Sadly, ii would gladly welcome one of my Premier Protein shakes right now! I'm down 23 lbs since the beginning of my pre-op diet. My one concern...TMI, sorry...I haven't pooped since last Wednesday! I finally have gas, but still haven't had a bowel. Should I be worried? So happy to read all of your stories! Go us!

    I want gum!

Oh! I don't want to do that! I had a hard time finding liquid protein that I liked, but GNC carries Isopure, which is a life saver! Ok...you convinced me...I can handle not chewing gum. Thanks! ????

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

June 19 here! Doing really well, with the exception of a headache here and there. Today is the first time I've been hungry, which I'm not liking at all. I need to get more protein in. They have me using the protein shots (liquid whey protein) and the only kind Walmart had was Acai Berry. Barfola! First thing tomorrow I'm on the hunt for a different kind! I'm down 22lbs from the start of my two week liquid diet.
  10. I'm so bummed. I had my surgery yesterday morning and felt absolutely amazing afterwards. Dr was thrilled with how well it went. This morning I developed a headache that didn't want to go away. I had the drink test to make sure I wasn't leaking and everything was fine. One hour before I was set to be released, my head hurt so bad that I became nauseous. They have me zofran through my IV and I felt better immediatley. Now I'm sitting at home with the killer headache and vomiting. Sips of Water make me throw up. I called the nurse and she thinks I need to go to ER. I am so bummed

    Fever, nausea...

Well lastnight I was in contact with the doctor and he thinks the headache was from the anesthesia and the nausea was from the headache. They called me in suppositories for nausea and that helped tremendously. They said if my fever was above 101.5 to go in. It never got above 100.9, then went away this morning! I feel SO much better. The nurse and I have been texting all morning. She told me not to push the Protein yet until I feel better. I'm keeping my liquids down just fine! The scale this morning said I've lost 20lbs! I'll take it
  12. I cannot believe I'm down to only two days before surgery! I've been great on the pre-op diet. Everyone was right, after day 4 or 5 it was no big deal. I'm down 12 pounds according to my scale! Yay! It is exhilarating knowing that I will NEVER see these numbers on the scale again! I can't wait to tell you all about my surgery! It will be at 8am on Thursday. ????
  13. So far I've done great on this liquid diet. I know it's because I've kept busy and kept my mind off of it. Today has been a horrible day. I'm just plain HUNGRY. I haven't caved at all, but I'm laying in bed absolutely starving and all I can think about is the jar of pickles in my fridge! One minute I'm so strong, and the next minute I'm questioning if I can really do this. Ugh, wish I could just go to sleep. Tomorrow is a new day!

    Day 4, SO hungry :(

I am able to have 4 Premier Protein shakes a day. They gave me other options for Protein Shakes, but wanted me to pick one and stick with it. I am to have 64 oz of "other" liquids (Water, flavored water, g2, etc) I can have up to two cups of broth. That's usually my dinner. I can also have sf Jello and sf popsicles. I'm not gonna lie...once a day I mix PB2 (powdered peanut butter) into my Protein shake. It just makes me look forward to something!

    today is my day!

What a blessing! Can't wait to hear all about how much you rocked surgery!

    Weigh in day :)

    That is WONDERUL!!! Congratulations!
  19. I just don't know what to do... My first day of the two-week liquid diet is on Thursday, and my husband has planned for us to meet three other couples at the KC Royals game far tailgating and the baseball game. I'm just not sure how I will feel that first day! I might be just fine...I might be a hungry psychopath...I just don't know! I'm just nervous about being put in a situation on my very first day where I'll want to eat. The good thing is I can bring in unopened bottles of Water, so I can bring my crystal light flavoring and possibly a Protein shake. Ugh...should I go?
  20. I have BCBS Blue Care and they won't cover a dime of my surgery
  21. I'm on the 19th and I start my liquid diet tomorrow. Did a trial run yesterday and today. Not bad, but I'm sure it'll get old! I plan on eating a light dinner tonight before I go full force in the morning. Best wishes to you!!!

    What would you do?

Thanks for your input! I want you all to know that I'm fully aware of the lifestyle changes I'm about to make. My issue is putting myself in this situation on the very first day, not knowing how my body will react to not eating solid foods. My husband is very supportive of me and this decision we've made. He just didn't realize when he made the plans that it was the very first day of liquids only. Again, thank you all for your input! I'm able to see it in many perspectives now! I'm going to ease my way into all liquids. I think it'll be ok, but my husband knows that I might back out! And I'm not going to feel bad if I end up backing out!
  23. kerweav

    What would you do?

You guys are so right! Thank you!

    ONEderland!

YAY! I love hearing these stories! Congrats!
  25. My surgery is on 6/19! I'm soooo excited! I start my liquid diet on 6/5. I had my final appointment at the surgeons office yesterday and feel a little bit better about the diet. That's what I'm most nervous about. I can have 5 protein shakes a day (they suggested Premier Protein shakes from Sam's Club). I need to have 8 oz of 100% fruit juice for calories, and 48-64 oz of other liquids. I can have up to 2c broth, sf jello, sf Popsicles, and any other sf drink. I told my kids today (ages 7 & 9) that in a few weeks I will be going to the hospital so that the doctor can help me get healthy. They asked some good kid-friendly questions, so hopefully they will understand it good enough. I'm so ready! I'm excited to play with my kids, take them to amusement parks, water parks, and mostly to teach them a healthy lifestyle! Let's do this!
