    8 weeks out

I'll be 8 weeks out on Monday. So far, so good! I have lost 32 lbs since surgery and very happy with my WLS! I have increased my walking and activeness after work each day and joining a gym next week!
  2. GREAT, rest and above ALL else, walk walk walk...that's the ONLY thing that will REALLY help your gas and bloating discomfort sweety. Walk every chance you get. GasX helps, but minimally, walking the the true real medicine here. Good Luck. IN 4 days you'll feel better, in 7 you'll fee terrific!!

    Current Progress with Pics!

Amazing!!! CONGRATS! You look fabulous!! Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I really really like the "Premier" brand Protein shakes. They sell them at Walmart, costco and some supermarkets. I really love the chocolate flavor one. The vanilla is too sweet for me. Also, in powders, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the unjury brand Chocolate Splendor. Mix with fat-free milk and ice, YUMMY!!! It tastes the best, truly like a chocolate shake from an ice cream place.
  6. Yup agree with all above. I too was lucky, no pain, just gas and bloating which is a bit uncomfortable. The MOST important thing is WALK WALK WALK! I cannot stress it enough. That is the ONLY thing that really will help with the gas and bloating. Walk every chance you get! I would even walk overnight, if I felt bloated then I would get up and walk. The 4th day after surgery I actually felt "better",then 7 days out... you really start to feel normal and when you begin to eat soft foods, you feel amazing and like you got this! Good luck, stay positive, you'll be soooooo happy in a few weeks!!! Good luck and WALK !!!!!!!!
  7. I've lost 30 since surgery May 5th and I don't remember feeling this good, this energetic and overall so happy with myself. I will be forever thankful to the friend who recommended I get my WLS and for my amazing surgeon. I am soooo looking foward to losing more till I reach my goal. I vow to stay healthy and active forever so that I feel this good for the rest of my life -- God willing!!
  8. 30 lbs lost in 7 weeks post op! YES!!!! Love it! Soooo happy!

  9. Sorry gentlemen but guys weight loss amounts are wayyy higher than ours so keeping you out of this one lol! Anyway, ladies, how much weight did you lose your first week post-op? I go to my first doc appointment after my surgery last Monday and hope I lost at least 6 lbs! Is this realistic??

Stall @ week 3? Seems to soon for that?

YUP completely normal, I was the same. At 3 weeks that dam scale would NOT move, however, after the 4th week -- watch out. 3 to 5 lbs the 2 weeks after that and now 1 to 2 lbs per week. Keep up the good work, don't get discouredged and just wait -- in now time, the pounds will continue to fall off and the sizes come down!

    8 weeks out!

Congrats to ALL! Amazing! I can tell you are all happy as I am. I am 6 weeks out and have lost 27 since surgery, down 2 sizes and elated. I feel better and better every passing day --thank God and really happy overall with my WLS. Let's keep this momentum of going downwards and happiness going my friends!
  12. I was sleeved 2 weeks ago tom (5/5), just want to give my update, mostly hoping to catch up with peeps who were sleeved on or about 5/5. Thankfully, I am happy to report I am feeling pretty good!! Began my pureeds about 2 days ago and so far, so good. Tonight I just had a small piece of grilled fish filet and a 1/2 teaspoon of mashed sweet potato, then went for a 30 minute walk and feel great! Trying to stay hydrated is hard because I forget so trying to increase that. Taking all my chewable vitamins and walking. I've slept a full 8 hours for the past 2 nights which is wonderful! I'm still not working, another 2 weeks, I need to feel 100% great and make sure I go into a regular diet by then, in very small portions of course! Hope my early May peeps are all doing well, feel free to chime in and tell us how you are doing. Have a great week everyone, God Bless!!

Good Luck on your surgery! I'm 6 weeks, 1 day out and feel TERRRRRRIFIC!! I've lost 26 lbs since surgery and am down 2 dress sizes, very exciting. The first 2 weeks are hard but once you start on soft food, and you see the weight coming down you will be happy happy! Stay positive and more importantly -- WALK WALK WALK after surgery! I can't stress it enough. It helps with gas and it gets you ready to feel like your old self again.

I am 21 lbs down from the surgery date but 36 since I started this journey back in Dec (first doctor appointment). I look good, feel great and super happy. Each week gets better. Good luck, keep positive, walk and walk to make the gas and bloating pains down.

New sleeve ! Day 4 ! Feel like crap !

Wow...ice cream?? Tsk Tsk Tsk... live and learn sweety. Stick to Clear liquids, broth, sugar free pops, Jello, and i guarantee in about 2 days you'll feel good and in 5 days you'll feel almost like your old self, but lighter. Stay positive and walk walk walk, that's the ONLY thing that really helps gas/bloating pain. Walk every two hours, especially after eating/drinking anything and drink very small sips. I am 6 weeks out today and feel AMAZING!! Have lost 21 lbs since surgery down 2 dress sizes, have more energy now, no pain, eat real food (tiny amounts which I am good with) and feel terrific and happy. Good luck!

    7 weeks out

No red meat for me but anything involving chicken, fish I'm totally ok with. My reason for no red meat is because it's probably too hard to digest and I don't want to take a chance. I am 6 weeks out and feel terrific. More energy each week, down 21 lbs since surgery, down 2 dress sizes and happy happy happy with my WLS!! I'm still doing Protein shakes in the morning (sometimes I eat eggs) and turkey or chicken for lunch.
  18. Hi there. My experience so far has been great! Everyday I am happier and happier as people notice that I am losing weight, seeing my scale numbers go down slowly without fear that if I mess up one meal, it'll go up again, as this is for life. So long as I stay within my small amounts of food which is very satisfying I am good! Two weeks before surgery I started being really good, cutting down on carbs and especially big amounts of food. One week before I subsituted one of my meals with a Protein shake (I like the Premier brand best -- you can get them at Walmart). They have 30 grams of Protein and they taste pretty good. Then the last three days before surgery I went all liquids with eating pureeds for one meal (usually dinner) a Protein Shake for Breakfast and Soup for lunch. I didn't eat anything but broth the day before. Post of after surgery, only broth, Jello, and a little protein shake. You can't really take too much that week, but I promise once you start pureeds then soft foods the 2nd and third weeks, all is much better! I take my Vitamins (all chewables) and I purchase them at Walmart or thru Bariatric Choice, it's a website. Pain after surgery was definetely bearable, no big deal, only thing when you come home is the gas pains, and honestly, the only thing that helped tremendously was WALKING WALKING WALKING. The Gas X didn't do anything for me, walking did, especially after every meal, I still do so, 6 weeks out, it helps a lot. The first week you're super bloated and uncomfortable due to bloatness and gas, the 7th day out you feel a lot better, 2 weeks later, great and 3rd week, sleep normaly and feel like your old self, except lighter which is great! Good Luck! No reason to feel scared or negative, you'll do great!
  19. OK calm down...LOL! First of all, immediately after surgery, you'll be sore and more than anything, bloated and with zero appetite. Secondly, once you start eating (Jello and liquids), due to gas, it will be a bit painful when it goes down, so being that you're not hungry and it's painful, you won't think about food, nonetheless feel hungry or have any urge to eat. Once you do start eating food, you get full so fast that you won't want food all the time and with just a little, and hopefully the right healthy foods, you will feel satisfied. Also, once you notice on our clothes and your scale the weight coming off, you will be so thrilled that you will want to continue with this healthy eating and watch more weight come off constantly. Be positive and get ready to feel amazing after a few days and especially after the first 4 weeks when a lot of weight has come off, people are noticing, you feel lighter and healthier! Good Luck!! Don't worry, be happy, go on this journey very positively!

4 weeks post op & scale isn't decreasing

Same here, 4 weeks also and no change on my scale after the 3rd week, now this week it went down 3 lbs. We'll have stalls, I've taken the advise of many and will not go on my scale for a while now, however I can tell on my clothes that I am in fact losing. Good Luck... let's not get discouraged and follow our doctors order for success!
