  1. Happy 63rd Birthday BCW!

  2. I'm a little confused. I was banded last Friday, and I'm supposed to be on Clear liquids for a week, then mushies. The only things I know to be clear liquids are broth, SF Jello, and SF popsickles. Is there a difference between liquids and clear liquids? Do Protein shakes qualify as clear liquids? Is there any way I can get more protein for strength? I would appreciate any advice.
  3. I had a band long ago (before they were adjustable). I was really sick for a long time, but then it was great! I lost over 100 lbs and had wonderful health and energy. Then erosion required that it be removed. After 6 years, I have gained it all back plus. Most doctors don't want to reband me because of the scar tissue created when I was unbanded. I am 56 years old, and the future doesn't look good. I would have to be selfpay. Has anyone else had any experiences like this? Any suggestions?
  4. Thanks for all the great replys. I'm having a hard time making up my mind because everyone is so sold on their Dr. and they all seem to cost about the same. (about 15,000) I guess too many options are better than too few. Where's a coin to flip when you need one?
  5. Hey Dallasdoll. Thanks for the reply. How did you learn about Dr. Barker? I can't find any info on him. I noticed that there was another posting asking about him, and you were the only one who replied. Why aren't more people familiar with him? The price sounds too good to be true. I'm not doubting you at all, but I just need more info. Thanks, BCW
  6. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Dr on a self-pay budget? I live in the Dallas area. I'm considering going to Mexico, but I would prefer to stay closer to home. I need to know if a doctor is good and how much he charges. Thanks, BCW
  7. I'm considering using Dr. Rambaut in Monterey. I've heard only good stuff about him except he's a little more expensive than some of the others. Has anyone had any bad experiences with him? Also, if I use him I'll need after care and fills in the Dallas area. Any suggestions. I need to know what the costs will be for these. Thanks, BCW

Need Fill Dr. in DFW, TX

I need the same info. 3 needed criteria 1. must be great! 2. must be as inexpensive as possible--self pay 3. must be willing to fill proceedures done in Mexico
  9. Alas! mine is HealthSelect. BCW
  10. I have been denied because BSCS has an exclusion for WLS surgery to state employees. I was told that this was more a policy of the state than BSCS, and that no-one has ever succeeded in getting it reversed no matter how many appeals or lawyers they used. Does anyone know if this is true. I don't want to go to the hassel if its useless. I saw on the main site that BSCS has recently changed for approval in Colorado and New Mexico. Please let me know if you have any info. BCW

    OUTSTANDING Move by BCBS

Has anyone heard if there is any change is BCBS of Texas? The state of Texas has them write in an exclusion for anything related to WL. I don't think anyone has ever suceeded in getting them to reverse their decision.
