  1. I agree completely with what everyone has said. I had the sleeve right after I turned 45 and wish I had done it earlier. Look for a surgeon who is with a Center of Excellence for WLS. If you can't find one near you, call my doctor's office in Atlanta and they could possibly help locate one for you. I used Dr. Hart at Atlanta Bariatrics. I felt like I was in excellent hands. Dr. Hart doesn't do lap bands much anymore either - that told me that I was making the right choice with the sleeve.

  2. Drinking has been no problem for me. I am 6 days post op. I have been gassy, but had no problems at all with things going down. Just trying to ease your fears a bit!

Yay! I'm so happy you are doing well!! What a relief! I'm happy you are feeling okay, and not in too much pain!

How has drinking been? For some reason all of a sudden I'm not too worried about the surgery but the whole drinking after surgery. I'm scared it's gonna burn my poor new tummy... I'm weird but scared lol

Good luck to you, I can't wait to see you shrink! ;-) keep us updated

  3. Hi all,

6 days post op here. Also had a hernia repair during surgery so I am really sore. This week of liquids has been really rough and I am starving most of the time...I know this sounds weird, but I am. I get in my Protein Shakes and most of my fluids, but I am really hungry most of the day. I am hoping I feel more full when I start on soft foods tomorrow. Down 12 lbs. but so worried I'm going to gain when I start eating again.

  4. I'm scheduled for 11/24. I will also be having my gall bladder removed. Hope that added surgery doesn't prolong recover -- I'm scheduled to take 2 weeks off...... I'm very excited and am looking forward to the new lighter me!

I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago...I recovered very quickly and didn't need any pain meds once I got home. It's recovering from anesthesia that takes a while, so you will be doing that anyway with your WLS. Good for you, getting it removed at the same time!
