  1. I agree completely with what everyone has said. I had the sleeve right after I turned 45 and wish I had done it earlier. Look for a surgeon who is with a Center of Excellence for WLS. If you can't find one near you, call my doctor's office in Atlanta and they could possibly help locate one for you. I used Dr. Hart at Atlanta Bariatrics. I felt like I was in excellent hands. Dr. Hart doesn't do lap bands much anymore either - that told me that I was making the right choice with the sleeve.
  2. Drinking has been no problem for me. I am 6 days post op. I have been gassy, but had no problems at all with things going down. Just trying to ease your fears a bit!
  3. Hi all, 6 days post op here. Also had a hernia repair during surgery so I am really sore. This week of liquids has been really rough and I am starving most of the time...I know this sounds weird, but I am. I get in my Protein shakes and most of my fluids, but I am really hungry most of the day. I am hoping I feel more full when I start on soft foods tomorrow. Down 12 lbs. but so worried I'm going to gain when I start eating again.
  4. I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago...I recovered very quickly and didn't need any pain meds once I got home. It's recovering from anesthesia that takes a while, so you will be doing that anyway with your WLS. Good for you, getting it removed at the same time!
  5. I am turning 45 on Thursday (where does the time go?!) and I'm getting sleeved on Nov. 4...so nervous and I want to chicken out, but I also want the next 45 years to be better than ever.
  6. November 4th! Getting really nervous. Can I really do this?!!
  7. My surgery date is Nov. 4th! Getting really nervous about the big lifestyle change coming. Not sure I'm ready for it. No pre-op diet for me. Just liquids the day before.
  8. I am a photographer with a huge project in June. Hoping to be sleeved in mid-May and worried I won't have enough recovery time! Please let me know how long it took for you to feel like you could go back to work. Thanks!
  9. I just want to be able to shop in regular stores!
  10. I'm very nervous, but also not wanting to continue down the unhealthy road I'm on!
  11. Hi there, I am about 4 hours north of Savannah. Sounds like we have a similar time frame. I'm hoping for a May surgery date. Just had my endoscopy yesterday.
