6 days post op

Hi all,

6 days post op here. Also had a hernia repair during surgery so I am really sore. This week of liquids has been really rough and I am starving most of the time...I know this sounds weird, but I am. I get in my Protein shakes and most of my fluids, but I am really hungry most of the day. I am hoping I feel more full when I start on soft foods tomorrow. Down 12 lbs. but so worried I'm going to gain when I start eating again.

Hi there. Once you start on your soft foods, you'll feel soooo much better! Remember to eat slowly. Also, the "hunger" might not really be hunger, it might be from the hernia repair, it can easily be confused with heartburn, I know I did. Keep drinking your Water and more importantly, walk walk walk walk... good luck, it DOES get better, you will NOT gain any weight if you stay within your Protein foods and away from sugar, starches, carbohydrates. It gets better and better, you'll see.... Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

I'm 4 days post op and have felt the same way about hunger/heartburn on the all liquid diet. When I do start to eat pureed/soft foods, what do most people recommend? Greek yogurt is on my list, but still looking for other ideas. Thanks!

My formula for the Puree stage was Blender = Puree..... ;) Throw some chicken soap in the Blendtec and Voila..... high Protein puree. Just don't spend too much time looking at it - yuk. Still.....it tastes great. Everything puree's
