  1. Ahh, sure then. I guess I was " prejudice " If you read what I read you may think awful things as well. Sorry if I base my OPINION on one story. But, just as you are free to toss out names at me, I am also free to say what I want.
  2. Racist?? Wow, Not at all. I simply said I read about someone's horrible expericnce. Your way out of line slinging that word my direction.

    Appointment

I'd rather get the short version like you guys lol
  4. I actually very happy to go through the appointments and groups In order to get he surgery. I'll take all the info I can get to learn how to change how I think and to be more healthy for my children and myself. You make it sound " amazing" being self pay and going to Mexico for the surgery. Self pay, number one is awesome, not a lot of people can do that. But, aren't you afraid of Mexican health care? I would be terrified I read a really bad horror story about getting surgery from there. No thanks lol
  5. The place I go to submits the weight after the surgeons appointment. So you have the time to lose any weight required to lose. I'm glad about that too because I would have been denied immediately
  6. I figured as much lol Thank you all for helping me understand

    Appointment

Wow!! Why is it that long???? What kind of questions so they ask that requires such a long visit??
  8. I do have very painful hip, knee and ankle joints. Asthma, depression. But, none of those qualify as co-morbidities because he surgery won't fix my asthma and who knows about the others.
  9. I don't have pressure incontinence. I never thought of adding weight or slouching. I just thought I would go in and actually be the right weight lol My ins says 40 bmi or above or 35-39bmi with co-morbidities. I meet with the neurologist the 23 to discuss my sleep study results. Then the next day I go see the PA and see if I qualify or just stop going there. I called to ask about a week ago of my initial weight from my first visit was going to be the weight submitted for qualifying purposes. She said no, the one at the end with the surgeon is . So? Why did the PA tell me if I don't have sleep apneA then I don't qualify?? I saw he nutritionist and she said " your so close!!" What, about a half a pizza should get you where you need to be" lol
  10. I love all the feed back thank you all very much. I'll have to try the milk shakes, and take up sewing Wink! Wink!!
  11. I have bcbs anthem. They will approve for pre-diabetes?? I'm at the start about one month in to the process and my bmi is 39.1 and I'm one of those " healthy" fat people. Right? Lol I had a sleep study and get the results on the 23rd. If that comes back as ok then I was told by the center my ins will not ok surgery. But the weight that gets submitted is the final weight at the surgeons so I'm all confused

    My mexico experience

I am so sorry you went through that. What a horrible experience. Very scarey I am glad you are well now:) God bless
  13. @@amduc I am in the same boat! Same BMI and wishing I was fatter for once in my life! Or have co morbidities. I also feel " if it's meant to be" but still frustrated to be .02 away from approval. Were in this together! Keep your head up
  14. @@WhoKnows No way is that crazy, I thought of that too!!!! I was even considering not going through with this because you never know what will happen.
  15. Oh boy! Two surgeries? Lucky you lol Good luck with the sleep study. I hope they show up this time
  16. Thank you MickeyMouse68, I will have to check on Monday. I got fasting labs done last Saturday And they still haven't got those, so I'll be calling Monday. Thank you
  17. I also have had my first appointment and was 39 bmi. Plus I have anthem bc/bs. Since that appointment I've been trying to gain 5 lbs before my next appointment. Are you saying I'm screwed? Lol How disappointing that they go from our first weigh In. The only thing saving me is a sleep study " come one sleep apnea!" Lol I don't have any co-morbidities either. What a bummer. For the first time in my life I'm just not fat enough
