  1. So I woke up today no longer obese! My BMI is under 30 :-) This was a huge goal for me and I am so happy! I love my sleeve!

I remember when I also got into the normal BMI range. In some ways it was anti-climactic because i was living a more 'normal' life way before my BMI was normal. But it was great watching the doctor change my diagnosis in my medical chart and remove 'obese' from it.

    Mourning the girls

I finally bit the bullet and did a bra fitting. The woman who helped me was great and it has made a big difference. I had been "shopping out of my drawers" but ran out of options. Without a bra still sad but the right bra is magical! And I was 44DD before and now 36D. I was always afraid to do the bra fitting but I am so happy I did.

What was your psych eval like?

Just to add to everyone's great input - during my eval the psychologist also wanted to make sure I had realistic expectations from the surgery. It was pretty straightforward. I got the impression that she was on my side and wanted me to be successful. Good luck and let us know how it went!

    5'10" - 550lbs / Dr. Quinones

Many people on here have gone to Mexico for surgery and had great results. Do your research and make sure you have a dr in the US who will do the follow up. Best of luck to you! I am so grateful for my sleeve and I hope the same for you!

    My Cruise Vacation

I understand. That was one of the reasons I had the surgery - I has tired of "standing out" and not in a good way. It WILL get better! When are hoping to have your surgery?
  11. Hope you are on the mend and feeling better!
  12. Congratulations! Huge step forward!!

    I need some retail therapy!

Hmmmm - I like the Volumina: Brown Satin Shoulder Straps Corset or the Juliet: Green and Black Brocade Overbust Corset. The Lady: Long Silver Brocade Pattern Corset looks like it would too long and uncomfortable if you sit. What color jacket are you wearing with it?

Good luck Carla! I will keep my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly for you!
  15. I am so glad you posted this! I am headed out tomorrow to go to my niece's wedding shower several states away. My sister has planned a weekend of wildness and drinking. But I am 3 months out and totally focused on my diet and feeling like a well oiled machine right now. Your post just confirms it's not worth it! Thanks for sharing!

    Ticker information

To change my ticker info I go to my name at the top left of the screen. My tickers is in the right column. You can edit it there. Hope this helps! So frustrating when stuff gets moved but they don't tell you where!
  17. Congratulations on your progress ! So happy for you all the way around

    Tomorrow is my day

Good luck to everyone getting sleeved tomorrow! You will do great!
  19. I do receive email notifications from them letting me know when the meetings are being held - do you receive any? I believe the class on Tuesday is the pouch class but I cannot find the email that I received. How has your progress been post-surgery? I have been very happy with mine. It has been slower than some but that has always been the case for me.
  20. Karenlee, I would like to go to one and see how I like it. The email I just got was the was for the pouch rules class and it said it was people 6 months out? I know they have other classes too - Have you gone to any?
  21. I used Dr. Provost too because of his long history doing these surgeries. He has actually trained doctors to do bariatric surgery. One differentiating factor for me was his follow up and support system. I received a notebook with tabs for appointments, diets for every stage, Vitamins etc. All spelt out for which ever surgery you & he decide is best! The office also has a clothing exchange where you can drop &/or shop. And they have monthly support meetings after hours. I felt in very good hands! ====================
  22. Hi Pam! I can be your buddy! I was sleeved May 30th. How is your progress so far?

    Surgery tomorrow

Fingers crossed for a quick recovery! Good luck!!
  24. Hi Janie, I had the sleeve done just over 2.5 months ago. I had the same fears you did. I am post menopausal and am losing weight. I don't want to jinx myself but I have lost some weight every week so far. I have just started to notice that I am losing hair but it will come back so am not that concerned. I have followed my doctor's program with only slight variations (I never could do strained food) and am very pleased with my numbers. I have no regrets! Good luck to you!!
