  1. I'm supposed to have a panniculectomy done December 8th. Worried I will not be happy but can't afford Tummy Tuck at this point. Insurance is covering Panniculectomy. Anyone had just the panniculectomy and if so how do you feel about the results? I have a small area above the belly button but not crazy.
  2. My doctor quoted 3000$ to add on a tummy tuck to my panniculectomy . There are some reasonable docs out there
  3. First few days were very painful. From day one I really didn't want to eat but made myself. Got behind on fluids and ended up in the ER yesterday. After IV fluids I felt better. Feel great. Hopefully get my drain out Monday. Right now it's the most aggravating part. Binder is great. Didn't realize how sore I really was because it provides wonderful support but when the ER doc examined my abdomen I realized how sore it was. So excited. Glad I did it even though there is a lot of healing left. I have some preop pictures and when I get the ok to remove my binder I'll take postop and post them.
  4. Well, I received an early Christmas present. My plastic surgeon is awesome. We went in to do Panniculectomy and I awoke to everyone saying merry Christmas. While she was there she did a mini tummy tuck. It took the same amount of time I was scheduled for. From what I can see she did an amazing job. Can't wait til Monday to get drain out and take a real look. So happy I could cry.
  5. I'm excited. I plan to have more done next year but this is a great start. Nervous about going home same day of surgery.
  6. One of my bariatric coworkers just had a baby and the surgery caused her to have a hard time breastfeeding. Not enough calories to produce milk. Just keep that in mind.
  7. Our Nutritionist says baby food actually provides very little nutrition and will not provide what you need.
  8. I am absolutely happy that I met Mitchell. I also work in the OR that he works in but I do not help with his surgeries but I have seen him operate. He is as professional when you are asleep as he is in his office. He is passionate about what he does and is very genuine. I am so happy I decided to have surgery on October 29 2013 and to date have lost 62 pounds and I Feel great!
  9. Hi Richandria, I have to be honest. First day after surgery I felt amazing. Second day was a little harder. But it got better. I had headaches in the hospital which were horrible. My doctor told me that this was my bodies new way of telling me I was hungry. Things the first week got better. Second week was the hardest for me. Different surgeons have different things they do postoperative and my doctor places a feeding tube and a drain. The drain stayed in for two weeks. During the beginning of week two before I had my drain out I started to really hurt. I thought it was constipation or gas. One day was so bad I couldn't make myself do feedings or drink anything. I thought I was dying. I was getting dehydrated and I knew that was making me feel worse bit it hurt so bad to move. It started to get some better so I made it through to my two week appointment when they took out my drain. It was a miracle, all the pain went away. My doctor said the drain must have migrated. Things went up hill fast. I felt great after that. Eating was an adjustment. I was never hungry and struggled to get Protein and calories in. My surgery was October 29, 2013. I have lost 51 ilbs and I feel great. I am so happy I did it. Even though there have been struggles and has been the best decision I have made. You can do this! Don't give up and keep fighting through the battles because you will be happy.
