  1. Me too! I have told my husband, mother, brother and bff. I didn't tell my sister because she's perfect, always has been, and I don't want to feel like I have to defend myself. Honestly, it's my guts. Just because I'm having surgery doesn't mean I'm required to talk to you about what I eat and a don't eat. Being overweight has made me the negative center of attention for long enough and I don't want to talk about it with everyone. When I was pregnant with my son I remember how everything became about my pregnancy after we told people that we were expecting. I don't want the same to happen in this instance. I don't blame you for not telling anyone. I don't discuss my period or the kind of tampons I use or how many. My guts, my business.

  2. So I tried the Protein Plus milk, I love it. My son has been also been dipping in my Nectra Sweets for his post track chocolate milk! I didn't so much love the single serve Lucerne Protein shakes, but they only had vanilla...

The mixing the chocolate Truffle with Water - I have never tried Water, I always mix with NF milk or with Almond or Coconut Milk unsweetened, of course - it is 35-45 calories to milks 80-90 calories, I am afraid of mixing chocolate with water :-D

I won't mix chocolate and water either! The thought makes my skin crawl.

  3. This is really random, and it may not apply to you, but one of my incisions was right below where my bra sits, so putting on my bra was painful. If you have one that closes in the front, that would help, I wish I did. Just something I wish I knew.

I would use this pre op time to start to cut back on carbs and focus on getting lots of Protein. It woulld help to get used to drinking Protein shakes because you will be drinking them for awhile after surgery. You can buy samples at www.nashuanutrition.com. If you are a big soda drinker like I was, I would try to cut back on that. You will need to avoid drinking soda for awhile at least. There are different theories about this but most people say it's because the carbonation causes painful bloating and gas.

That's about all I can think of now. I'll try to think of more. Good luck!

Thank you so much for that link!! OMG! I want to try them all! There's like a million flavors! I wonder which brand is best and far as the most protein and least carbs and sugar...

  4. ...I drove my family and friends crazy with talk about weight loss surgery. Now 5 days post op (and staying with my parents for a week), my mum told me yesterday to 'stop going on about it'!!! It's frustrating because they just don't understand. The only people who will ever 'get it' are people who have lived in a body which they despise...

I don't see how she could tell you to stop going on about it! It's a BIG deal! It's life changing! You NEED to be able to talk about it with someone that loves and supports you!

  5. Oh cool how was your friends results? And I bet you can't wait until June lol the 2 week diet is no joke lol

She had lap band with him around 5 years ago. She had complications and had to have it out in December. I think she's going to have a revision and get the sleeve. I hope so. She lost a lot of weight but she didn't follow the rules.

  6. My insurance company is letting me use any appointment when I spoke to my doctor about my weight in the past two years towards my 6 months. So, one appt 2/28, my next one tomorrow, one from Sept 2013, one from Nov 2013, then April and May. I did my psych eval and met with the Nutritionist Tuesday. I did my labs at my doc appt 2/28. Success habits workshop will be on April 5th. Then I just have to schedule the exercise class, do the computer test and pre-op appointment. Oh! I had to get approved by a cardiologist too and I meet with him for the follow up tomorrow afternoon.

It looks like my surgery will be in June. Woohoo!

Wow. That's a lot. Thank God for my Google Calendar.

  7. My mother, big brother, husband and bff are the only ones that know. I am DEF not telling my hypochondriac, always perfect, 5'3" 120lb sister. My extended family won't be told either. When they ask I'm just going to tell them I'm on a diet. The way I see it, I don't survey them all about my tampon choice, why would I inform them of what I'm doing with my guts?

    My guts, my business.
