As I stated before on other page I had tried every diet known to man. I counted everything from carbs, protein amounts, liquid amounts, calories, etc. As soon as I went off that latest diet I would gain all that I had lost and 20 lbs more each time. In 2000 I started a new job where the insurance had paid for 6 people to have weight loss surgery. All but 1 failed and they stopped paying. They all had the band they didn't have a choice. Not saying that the band doesn't work just know now that it wouldn't have been for me. So 13 years later and after I had been at my present employer for 8 years my health insurance decided to have a pilot program for weight loss surgery. After coming out of a 2 week shock I decided to call one of the surgeons listed to see if they had reached their 100 patient mark yet. Well here I am 15 months later from the first appointment till now and after my gastric bypass surgery I am 28lbs from reaching my goal weight of 190. Some people may think that 190 seems like a high goal weight but you have to understand I weigh less right now then I did when I went on my first diet at age 19. Then my weight was 225 and for my height and body build I was ok with that. I was healthy and just wanted to lose down to 190. Well now I love to go clothes shopping. It amazes me to walk into a store and go to a rack pick up a size 12 to 14 walk into a dressing room and actually put it on and it fit. Down 1 shoe size so now I can stop squeezing my feet into one size when I really needed to be into that larger size. Can't wear any of my old clothes or the larger size shoes so getting ready to bag up all old stuff and take it to goodwill or my favorite thrift store
