  1. So far I've only been walking. I've been pretty consistant with it. I walk everyday on my lunch break at work (who needs 45 minutes to eat anymore?) and many days, I'll go for another walk when I get home at night. I live in Michigan and the weather won't be good for walking much longer so I'm going to start using the gym soon.

How much have you lost so far? My conversion from lapband to gastric sleeve was 4/10 and I'm down 60 lbs. it seems to be a lot slower for me this time around but I feel much better.

  2. I was banded for 8 years and now I'm 2 1/2 months post op from revision to the sleeve. There is no comparison in the feeling I get when full. I was miserable just about every time I ate with the band. I had extreme chest discomfort. I was not one who could wait and let it pass. I had to run to the restroom most of the time after one bite and was still hungry. In the beginning the band was great. Then I got over restricted about 2 years out had Fluid removed and could never get back to the green zone. With the sleeve I haven't found anything that gives me trouble. I still eat small amounts. I do have acid reflux which I have never had b4 but I find if I eat 5 small meals a day it's better. As far as the full feeling goes toe it's much like before I was banded. Honestly I don't push it that far. I have noticed on a few occasions I get nauseated if I eat too much. It usually passes after 30 min to an hour. I was having extreme abd pain pre gastric sleeve. Hurt so bad I would go to the er every other month and get no answers. Since the sleeve I have not experienced that thank god. Pre lap band I was 312. I had gotten to 165ish in 2 years. Over the past 6 years I got back up to 266. Pre op gastric sleeve I was 266. Now 2 1/2 months later I'm at 227. Weight loss has been slower but it is coming off and I'm not miserable.

  3. If my dr was doing gastric sleeve at the time I had my initial wls I would have went that route. I had lap band 3/2006 and revision in 1 surgery 4/2014. I did not have reflux prior to revision but I do now. Gastric Sleeve is still way better choice in my opinion. I have been happy with my procedure. Weight loss has been slower. I just keep telling myself I will get to my goal. It may take time but I will do it.

  4. 5 weeks out from revision to gastric sleeve. Had band for 8 years with complications and regain weight over past 4-5 years. So far I'm down 28lbs. Weight loss is slower than it was when I initially got the band but much easier. I do get little nauseous every once in a while but no more vomiting every time I eat.

  5. Ok Now that I have a little more free time I can write more.

I had my Band Surgery Oct 26, 2006

    By May 2008 I lost 126lbs ( then weighed 219lbs )

Then My band was tightened to much and we were forced to take out most of the Fluid in it.

That was all she wrote, over the years since I have gained a great portion of the wight back.

I also have had issues with Swelling and slight band slippage also.

I will be happy to have the band removed and move on with my life when I am sleeved.

I will be doing this of course with a new doctor in a new office!

I have looked over some posts on this site, a lot of supportive msg's here.

Well I am happy to have found this site and hope if I have any questions or issues the supportive Sleever's on here will be here to help :)

Sounds like my story. I am 2 weeks post up from converting from lap band to gastric sleeve. I feel great and returned to work after 1 week with no pain meds after leaving the hospital. The only complication I am having is GERD which I did not have before. My surgeon told me that my stomach was inflammed from the lapband so it my take longer for swelling to go down if not he will have to do a scope and stretch it some. So for now I'm just following his instructions in hopes that things will get better in time. If not we will take the next step. Per his intructions I will continue on liquids and take my time with the soft food and drink things with sodium in it. He said some patients have difficult time with plain Water.

  6. I am 2 weeks post op. I was converted from lap band to gastric sleeve. First week was great. This week is another story. Monday I started feeling this fullnesss/lump in my throat. When I drink Water it just sits on top and between that and the excessive salivia i get nauseated. Turns out it is acid reflux. My surgeon was not suprised. He said that my stomach was inflammed from lap band. So for now I am trying pepcid complete and trying to drink gaterade and things that have salt. He said some patients tend to do better with that over plain Water. That plain water makes them sick. I do not have problems with popsicles, Jello, or soup/broth. Per his instructions I am going to continue on liquids and be very careful moving on to soft foods. If things do not improve he will need to scope me to stretch stomach some to help relieve it. I have found that pickle juice gives slight relief.

  7. I am scheduled for gastric sleeve 4/10. This is my second weightloss surgery. In 3/06 I had lapband and now having complications so I am converting to the gastric sleeve. I am super excited and nervous at the same time. I paid cash for the first procedure but insurance has approved me this time. I used to work for rhe surgeon who did and is doing my procedure. I went to work for him about 6 months after my lapband because I was very sucessful. I went from 312 to 165 now back up to 270
