  1. I had my surgery 2/26 and was 305 I had lost 38 pounds on my Pre op diet and as of today I am 252. I have gone from 26/28 to size 18 and they are getting loose. I am eating 600-700 calories a day, getting 70-80 gr Protein and about 64 oz fluids. I need to exercise more.. But my hubby and I have started a long walk every evening. My concern is that every time I meet with the surgeon he seems disappointed, he says I am ok but I just feel like I am not doing as well as I should be. I have to meet with the NUT and physical therapy again next week. I am really nervous about it as it gets closer, I have never had a good feeling with the NUT but going to her is a requirement of my program. I am striving to reach my goal of 180 I know I still have a long way to go. Does it sound like I am on track? Looking for feedback so I can mentally prepare for next weeks appt. Thanks in advance!

  2. I am not one to post regularly but just had to share my weekend NSV with folks who may understand my excitement. I had tickets to a baseball game with my husband and in-laws. I went shopping and was able to buy a women's cut team tee for the first time and did not have to wear the men's shirts like before. Then I could actually walk through the turnstile without turning sideways, but by far the best part... I fit in the seats, I was able to cross my legs and did not leave with bruises on my hips from squeezing into my seat like in years gone by! I am loving the new me.. My Consult weight 343, Surgery weight 305, current weight 256..surgery was 2/26!

  3. I have heard lots of folks on here talking about stomach acid after vsg. I am 2 months post op and the past several days I keep feeling discomfort almost like spasms along my sternum. It is worse after eating and drinking. I have found I am not hitting my goals for fluids because I avoid drinking now. Also my gurgling sounds from my new tummy are back like when I came home from the hospital. I called my surgeon and they says it's probably acid and encouraged to start taking my Zantac 150 twice a day instead of once a day. I have done that two says now and I know it won't work overnight. Just curious what experience others have had and what works for you?

  4. I feel like I need to vent tonight. I am really frustrated. I am on work trip in the "big easy" and realizing that I am not where I need to be yet emotionally. Last night cocktail party I was ok sipping my Water while everyone enjoyed passed food and an open bar. Today was a whole new story. I started taking my Vitamins which led to vomiting before Breakfast I was able to eat avfew bites of eggs. lunch was provided and I again could barely find anything I could eat so I opted for the deli meat and cheese that I took out of a sandwich. Tonight another cocktail party before dinner but I couldn't walk around with my water because we would be eating soon. Then went to dinner at Nola where the cocktails continued to fllow. I thought I had prepared by looking ahead at the menu but then realized they had a special menu prepared for us. I finally was able to pick at my plate however the waiters kept asking what was wrong. then after dinner we went out to s bar where once again i cant drink even water because i just ate. I feel so left out in these social situations and feel like everyone thinks something is wrong with me. I am so happy I go home tomorrow night. Sorry to sound like a baby but tonight I just feel like I will never be normal again.

  5. I am 3 weeks post op. I am down 15 pounds since surgery. I am usually drinking about 48 oz fluids and getting 60 gr Protein and taking my Vitamins. I am noticing that I am retaining Fluid again in my ankles but nowhere near ad much as I used to. A normal day is a Protein Shake for Breakfast, Greek yogurt around 11, cottage cheese 1/2 cup around 2, and 3 of puréed tuna, chicken or 1/2 c refried Beans around 6. Occasionally I also eat 2 tbsp of PB2. I am afraid I am able to take in too much already. Am I overeating? Yesterday I was at 653 calories. Carbs were 52. I am just nervous I am not on the right track

  6. I am three weeks post op today. I have been on soft/purée foods for almost a week. I am back to work full time since Monday. My energy level is still low but getting better. My biggest problem is that I think I am also missing part of my brain. I feel like I struggle to focus like I used to and also feel very forgetful like I am in a fog. Anyone else feel that way?

  7. Hi everyone, I am new to this sight but gave been lurking for a little while. I had my surgery 2/26 and things are going pretty well but I am really struggling with my Vitamins . I gave been consistently getting in my fluids and at least 60 G Protein however the vitamins are a challenge. I purchased the opurity vitamins from the Unjury website. The multi Vitamin makes me. Very nauseated I often cannot finish the whole thing and the surgeon wants me to take two daily. It can take me up to an hour to get it in and I have vomited from it as well. He has suggested finding a different multi vitamin. Wondering what you like? I would much prefer a pill than a chewable if possible but would like something made for WLS folks. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

  8. I am 2 1/2 weeks out surgery was 2/26. I am on puréed/ soft foods. I have been enjoying tuna salad just mayo and tuna no celery or onions, cottage cheese, refried Beans etc. however my husband wanted to go out to dinner with friends this weekend. I ate the contents of 2 wedges of a chicken and cheese quesadilla . I chewed till it was a paste like consistency and had no problems. It was also nice to be out with my husband and friends again :)
