  1. I did call and they told me almost exactly what you all have said. She was like, you did just have MAJOR surgery with a lot of things shifted around. LOL, she said I know your incisions are small, but the surgery was large! I have calmed down, and I appreciate all your input.

    Thanks fam! Keep going!

  2. Hey All!

First let me say that I know EVERYONE is different, but I do have this question. I am three weeks out and while I feel pretty good most of the time, I still have a bit of soreness in my abdominal area (I had two incisions in my waistband area) and every now and then a twinge of pain. I just need to know if that is normal. I had a hernia repaired as well. I almost want to call the doctor not because the pain is so severe, just because I am in the wonderful land of paranoia and don't want to do ANYTHING to mess up my new body!

    Please advise! Thanks!

  3. I do mostly eggs, but I was just wanting something different. Thanks for the advice. I have Stevia, so I will use it more. This is so weird for me because I am (almost) 3 weeks and I have entered the 'paranoid' stage where I don't want to mess up my progress or eat the wrong thing, but I am tired of eating the SAME things all the time!

I know this sounds whiney, so I apologize in advance.

  4. Hey there! Can I just say that Cream of Wheat without butter and sugar is like fresh Hell! I am running out of things to eat for Breakfast that are not breads or fruit or fatty meat! I personally hate Protein shakes (no I haven't tried them all...yes I know there are a bajillion out there and I will have to pluck through.) So my question is, how do you make hot cereals tolerable without wrecking the program? I mean, honestly, I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners. Like the minute they touch my tongue, I spit it out. Please help!

  5. Everyone's doctor is different just like everyone's body is different. My doctor never used the words puree to me at all! He is more for getting your Proteins from food rather than shakes so like I said...everyone is different. I eat soft foods, but not pureed and I do eat meat, but he clearly instructed me not to swallow anything that wasn't as fine as applesauce. I have done ok for the most part. I do sneeze and get hiccups when I am overfull. My problem is getting this eating schedule down. I am never really hungry, but if I don't eat something, my stomach gets real hostile and sour like. So I have to eat a bit of something, then I am pretty ok.

    This is a process...

  6. Hey everyone! I have always been the exception to most rules, but this time I hope I am not alone. I am 10 days post op and since the surgery, well since I have gone beyond Clear liquids, I have had the worse taste in my mouth! Like with anything, juice, flavored Water, my soft foods, I get the worst taste in my mouth!

And in the morning -- WHEW!!! So, am I alone in this, or is has this happened to anyone else?

    Grabbing for sugar free mints!

  7. Congrats! I had my follow up this morning as well. My surgery was 3/31 and I am down 17lbs. I am still on soft foods (no breads and he's a no red meat guy) but it's been ok. I haven't had a stitch of bread and I sooooo want some, but I will give myself a few weeks. Feel pretty good, ready to get moving to keep this weight loss going!

Best of luck to everyone! Keep loosing!

  8. My family wasn't 'not' supportive, but they didn't understand WHY I was doing it. They would say, 'you are not THAT big,' or 'you always had such a great attitude about being your size.' They admitted that they were afraid for me, because it IS major surgery. I assured them I had done all the research possible, AND I was doing it anyway! I am 8 days post op and haven't had any complications (except that gas child --- whoo!) Find peace in your decision. When you begin to live a healthier life, they all will be glad you did, but the most important person in YOUR decision is YOU! Chin up!
