Jersrose43 reacted to Weight Warrior in June Post Ops!
Ladies & Gentlemen ...... A short note on this milestone day.....I'm now down 200 lbs. I should get to goal weight by August or September if I stay on this course. Yea me!!!
I know we can all get to where we need to be. I'm so proud of all of you. I can honestly say that this group is a big part of the reason I am able to reach this milestone weight loss number. My sincere thanks for all of your support.
Well so much for keeping this short :-)

Jersrose43 got a reaction from ziggypbang in Do u ever wonder how people here eat such a perfect diet - all the time?
As a person waiting for approval and committing to this journey .... I really appreciated this post.
You see I am not a food addict. I don't eat unhealthy. I consider my food choices daily optimal ones. I have tried practically every diet out there unsuccessfully. I've met with nutritionist after nutritionist. Tried diff things only to GAIN weight on a "DIET" supervised or otherwise.
And then pack on the extra 10 pounds to the baseline every time.
Excercise is difficult as I suffer from increasingly worse asthma every day and I run out of breath.
    Compounded by my weight yes.
I don't eat chocolate but occasionally
I don't eat burgers but occasionally
    pizza maybe once a month
The worst thing i do? Date night with hubby once every two weeks. We like to try new and exciting places. That's the worst I do and always overindulge. We've agreed going forward after I am back on solids it's once every other month. And no overindulging.
I have 3 meals a day. I don't have multiple small meals a day - tried that gained 7 pounds
No thyroid issue found but family is rampant with them so it's a matter of time.
I need this tool. It is time. I plan on being as religious as possible. I have accepted that weight loss may be rapid or may be slow. That some days I will stray and it will be ok as long as the long term goal is the lifestyle acceptance and to be healthier.
I do not see this as a diet.
I appreciate the posters saying this because measuring everything was probably one of my biggest concerns. The mountain before me and all.

You really need to stop eating real food.
You should be on Protein Shakes.
Did they not tell you this?

Jersrose43 got a reaction from PdxMan in After three days I'm still ticked at my husband!
At first I read this and then thought this could be my husband writing this. We r at 20. I said I would like a 3 day trip somewhere. Vegas or AC or Quebec. Whatever go figure it out, book it and fill me in. Yep he can book it.
I thought it was fine and I didn't plan anything that night. I made dinner, nothing special, we ate after kids went to bed but that's it.
He brought home flowers card etc and I got pissd off. Yep u heard it. I was pissed.
Yes it was nice and romantic but we agreed a 3 day trip so why the expense and waste of flowers etc. A gift. I mean I thought we communicated here.
And you immediately jump to the fact it's because of your weight? Why ? I didn't read any of his actions or non action to do with that at all.
His reason was because he can and he wanted to. So ok I could've also but I didn't. He wasn't overly hurt. He told me a card would've been nice. I said on the AC trip you'll get a card and then some.
I think you need to talk.

It's really sad when doctors offices set wrong expectations.
If it's a benefit exclusion it definitely will not be paid for regardless of medical reason
Call your insurance and confirm it's a benefit exclusion

Ok, I'm gonna post an honest and, IMHO, awesome pic of me. I took pics 1/28, a day into my pre-surg diet....
    Surgery was 2/10.
I've taken several pics in the meantime... And I took some yesterday.
Anyway, I'm sharing because I have lost 1/3 of my excess weight. I am still really big... But I've changed a lot.

Am going to call the appeal number tmmw and pull the files they sent over. I am so disappointed.
I know that trying an appeal makes it harder. She should just have sent everything in the first time correctly.

Maybe her remark about another friend losing 10 lb was her opening the door to you sharing with her??? I'd be hurt if my BFF didn't trust me enough to share a huge lifestyle change with me...she's waiting for you to share. One of my BFFs had breast augmentation, didn't tell me. I could tell, but I wasn't going to remark openly to her. I waited till we were alone and told her she looked great. She apologized for not telling me, but wanted it to be no big deal.
Get over the hurt feelings...share your accomplishment (if not your tool) with her. If you're going out to eat with her, she's gotta know something is up.

You know shopping for dresses provides a great opportunity to just say. Hey I hope this dress still fits me when the day comes. This diet has been so awesome. Ask the shop how much you can alter etc. Make sure she's around for it.
Maybe she hasn't mentioned it because she's like my neighbor. She has seen the yoyo and doesn't want to hurt my feelings or be discouraging.

I don't understand why so many people are shocked by the fact they have to pay the surgeon up front or pay their deductible up front. The surgeon usually has an up front fee. I am have had six surgeries and have always had to pay an fee before surgery. Sometimes they would send it back to me, sometimes they wouldn't. I'm just glad I have met my deductible and out of pocket before my wls. Not trying to be rude, but some of you obviously don't understand how insurance works, give them a call they can explain everything to you.

Jersrose43 reacted to elfnow in Insurance $2500 copay...anyone else have this?
Who you pay the money to may depend on whose claim gets processed first. You might owe it all to the surgeon, or you might owe a big chunk to the radiologist, the Anesthesiologist, and THEN the surgeon! Or the hospital might eat up the whole thing. Talk with your surgeon's office and ask how THEY want to proceed - They may want you to give them a payment up front, but hopefully they won't require the entire $2500 - because it's the insurance company who assigns that out-of-pocket amount based on which claims go through first.... and it can be a real pain to get the money BACK from the overpaid office in order to give it TO the office that needs the money. Just talk with the folks there about how they want to handle it, or call your insurance company and ask whether the copay might apply to the hospital or the ancillary providers (radiology/anesthesia) or how that will work.

So bummed out. I was notified that my plan excludes ALL weight loss surgery. "Regardless of medical necessity." I'm not sure what I'm going to do! The surgeon charges right under $9,000. My credit is 620. What bank is going to make a loan like that with no leverage?! Do banks consider medical loans different from private loans? Do they pay the hospital/surgeon directly?? I've never gotten a clear answer.
