    Dressing?

I've found that when I dress in stuff that fits me better, I feel better about how I look. You've worked hard to get to this point, wearing tasteful clothes that show off your weight loss is perfectly acceptable. My issue is that I hate to spend much money on clothes while I'm still losing. I've always been a bargain shopper, though, so I've just kicked it into high gear now.
  3. I bought a pair of light wash rock star jeans this summer. I loved the way they looked. I need to go get some more. It's amazing to be able to wear skinny jeans!

    What is your goal?

I'm taking my first plane trip since my surgery in November. It will be so nice to not have to struggle to get my seat belt around me and worry that they'll try to make me buy another seat.

    92lbs gone!

    You look great!
  7. I have the same problem. Skinny legs, no butt, but still lots of belly flab. I've been buying jeans on clearance at Target and Old Navy because I refuse to pay over $20 for a pair of jeans that I can only wear for a couple of months. I got lucky a couple of weeks ago and found some Target skinny jeans on clearance for $7.
  8. After a 3 week stall, my scale finally moved enough today to put me in the overweight category. It's the first time in a decade (since right after my lap band) that I'm not obese or morbidly obese!

    After surgery update!

GasX strips were my best friend for the first few days after surgery. The gas and the drain were the only bad parts in my immediate post-op experience.

    please tell me the truth

I've had pizza a couple of times since my surgery. I just make sure it's thin crust. I've also made tortilla pizzas in the past for "make your own pizza night" at my house, and everybody loves it. I haven't done that since my surgery, but just because I haven't had the time to prepare all the fixins. As thin as they are, I know I'd be okay with those as well.
  13. This site helped me tremendously during that phase: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ She has some great ideas for puree recipes.
  14. I am a high school teacher, so I had the option of sitting at my desk a lot for the first few days back at work. I had my surgery on a Thursday and officially went back the following Thursday with no issues other than being tired. I had to go take pictures at a pageant for a fundraiser that I had already committed to on the Monday and Tuesday after my surgery before I was back at work. I sat in a rolling chair for three hours both nights and took pictures with no problems other than my drain tube feeling awkward while I worked.
  15. I consider myself to be very independent. Although my husband and kids were here with me the first couple of days out of the hospital, I didn't really rely on them for much. The first day my husband brought me my Water, but I could have done it myself. I came home on a Saturday and on Monday the kids went to school and he went to work. I had no problems at home by myself. As long as you're the kind of person who feels comfortable being alone, you should do fine barring any complications.
  16. Today was back to school day, and I was finally able to wear a dress that I ordered off Zulily two years ago. It was labeled 3x, but like most things on Zulily, it ran very small. It was more like a L or XL. I rarely wear dresses, so I felt kind of weird, but it was nice to finally get in it. This is a picture my 8 year-old took of my oldest son and me. He's a senior this year.

    cant tell a difference

I have the exact same issue. I can tell it in pictures, and I can tell in my clothes. When I see myself naked when I'm getting in and out of the shower, I see the same fat girl as always. When I was losing weight when I had my lap band 10 years ago, I don't remember this feeling.
  18. I'm currently a high school teacher. Recent changes in our administration coupled with other statewide education factors have me thinking about a career change. I'm very interested in becoming a nutritionist and trying to get a job with a bariatric surgeon so I can help people that have had issues with weight like me. I think this would be a great career path for me because I could use my skills as a teacher, writer and public speaker that I have gained for 14 years of teaching English, speech and journalism. I've done some research and it looks like there are some online masters programs out there that I could work on while still teaching. My question for anyone in the field is what specifics should I look for in an online program in nutrition? Any help or advice would be deeply appreciated.

  21. A few years ago I found a U2 t shirt at Old Navy. U2 is my all time favorite band, so I bought it even though I knew I couldn't fit into it. It was a very slim cut ladies' XXL, probably closer to a large in reality. I've kept it in my closet with the tags on it for over 5 years waiting for the day that I could fit into it. I tried it on when packing for our weekend trip, and it finally fit! In the words of Bono, "It's a beautiful day!"
  22. Tomorrow will be two months since my surgery. I feel like I'm losing slower than most, but I'm pleased with my 32 pound loss. Here's a side by side of me in February and today in the same outfit. I mostly see the difference in my face at this point.
  23. I have a work party at Outback tonight. I like my steak rare, so I don't want to take steak home to reheat since it won't be rare after its reheated. Does anyone know if they'll just let you order a side of grilled shrimp without ordering an entree.
