    Surgery april 8...excited!

Well done!! I can only dream of getting that low! I'm hoping to get to about 150lbs or 68-70kgs and be a size 12. Keep going, you are giving me motivation!
  2. Well, here I go! At 43, I've wasted my thirties being fat. This decision was easy. I was such a fit person in my twenties, even competing in amateur aerobics comps! Then I met my first husband who was a chef...the rest is a season on horrible histories! So, here I am. My surgery is on Tuesday, school holidays have begun and I've just lost another kg on the scales thanks to the pre-op diet. Thought I'd start a little diary of my journey. I began this last Sunday at 245 pounds, my heaviest ever (111). I kind of went crazy eating all the things I knew I wouldn't get again! I met Ben and Jerry and they showed me all around their yummy house lol. Funny, I was not a big ice cream person until I know I wouldn't have it again! But we've now seen enough of each other and I won't go over to them anymore So, today I weigh 107kg (236). Hopefully I will lose a couple more by Tuesday and then a crapload! Haha! Good luck to everyone out there Kaz

Hi Nia, I'm down 41lbs or 19 kg. still not exercising, so I can't complain lol! I feel good except for being tired but I'm down to size 16s and even some 14 dresses. Got the school camp in a few weeks, hope my energy keeps up for the kids lol, probably drop weight then too as we won't be stopping much! I'm thinking of it like boot camp for me! See you added me as a friend, cool. I'm still getting my head around how to use this site. Congrats on your success so far! You go girl! Can't wait till I'm in onederland with ya. Kaz

    check in October 13 sleevers

I hear ya! But I like not feeling like I'm on a diet...still, it would be nice if chocolate wasn't so easy to eat! I'm 17.5kg down after 17weeks but I'm not exercising... Have to start.

    9months out help

I hear you! I'm 11weeks and I've lost 34lb. I'm eating chocolate so I know it is my fault. I'm going to up protein again and I've slackened off water. Your story is so similar to mine. Slower loss advantage is less excess skin I guess :/

    Low BMI?

I'm 11 weeks and 34 pounds down. I've had two frustrating stalls and gone up a few pounds then dropped them. I don't really exercise yet but I do increase protein and water as well as some calories when I stall which helps. I try and vary my calories a little so my body is not thinking it is always starving. It is slow progress but then I'm down in clothes and feeling great! Our journeys will all differ, don't panic or lose hope, just keep chugging along.

Hey there Kaz, I was actually thinking bout you today and wondering how you were doing. Ahhh mazing by the way!- .5 is still .5 take that and add it to the rest it will all add up in due course. I've learnt early on to remember not every time i overate or ate wrong foods did I see immediate weight gain but sometimes I did and sometimes it came on slowly but eventually it did of course - therefore on the flip side, I expect I should see some immediate losses, some slow ones and some stalls.... Just coming out of a stall and slow loss these last three weeks. Keep going strong - and remember all the good advice and support you give to everyone else :-) Thanks, I needed that. Yes, slipped off the bandwagon into a chocolate lake again. Not the answer! Have to keep reminding myself of the money and pain I've put myself through for this; I'm determined again! X Hi Kazyy! I think we are both walking the same path but we will not be defeated! I know stalls are frustrating but we have to push forward. One of my tools is to only weigh myself once a month or I just wait until I go to the doctor. I took someone else's strategy about getting more Protein in. I also let my clothes tell me if I am losing. I bought a dress on 4/25 that was too small for me (it was bulging on all sides, lol). Yesterday was my second time wearing it and it is now too big. I didn't realize how big it was until I saw myself in a photo my friend took. So although the numbers on the scale aren't necessarily going down, my body is obviously getting smaller. So.....take it slow, keep eating healthy, exercising and getting in your Water and protein and you will do just fine. Thanks Miss B! I put a dress on today and was tripping over it with less boobs and bum to keep it up lol. You're right, I'm clearing out clothes already. Lost a couple of pounds, probably just the stress of doing school reports haha. Thanks for the encouragement! We will succeed!
  9. You poor thing. Hope you're better soon! :/

Aghhh! Stupid stalls! I'm stuck again only an extra 0.5kg lost Frustrating. Trying not to revert back to bad habits.
  12. Hi! My surgery is the same day in Perth! Congrats on your progress so far , that's excellent! Well done! That is an effort! I'm in gracemere. Had my surgery on April 8. Down 14kgs. Slowly but surely. Good luck!

    incision pain 7 weeks out

Here are my ugly, raised red scars after 7 weeks lol!

    incision pain 7 weeks out

Mine are keloid scars at 7 weeks. They get itchy and sometimes sting but it's the way my skin goes after any op. I'd be a bit concerned about yours though, there is a lot of redness beyond the scar line which usually means an infection. Try an anti bacterial cream or hydrogen peroxide for a few days. Go see a doctor if still red, that'd be my advice. Hope they get better soon. Has anyone out there got keloid scarring skin too? Sux!
  15. Hi! I ate stews etc but I puréed them in a blender so no lumps. Basically, if you have to chew you need more blending! Just think baby food consistency, then toddler food consistency for the next stage...and chew!! I also bought meals and blended them, just make sure they are the high protein, low fat and carb options.Use my fitness pal app. It is great for keeping track of your goals. I've found that burping and high chest tightness is my sign for being full too, if that helps Good luck and go easy to start with.

Keep going miss brown, you're doing great! As we get more calories, it gets easier to exercise. I know the frustration there, I slept so much this weekend! I've cracked the 30lbs loss today though, so feeling good. Down 13.5kg now. Next goal is move out of the 90kg range... And into 16s and some 14s...

    Surgery april 8...excited!

Hey there Kazzygal! I'm doing great guns - like you food doesn't seem to be an issue and I keep everything down and only needed one lesson not to eat to fast when I progressed to soft foods last week. I forgot I used to inhale food and not chew chew chew lol. Water is my biggest challenge. I used to drink 2 - 3 litres a day and loved the stuff. But post surgery I don't enjoy it or care for it, even though I know it's value and importance. I'm barely getting 600-750ml a day. Just keep trying to get it down with a little lemon juice or have hot tea or hot lemon juice and water. Seems I tolerate it hot or really cold. Just the wrong time of the year for really cold water. I've lost 12kg post op (14 April) and a total of 27kg since 10 March! So I'm a very happy girl. In a stall this week but I'm not concerned as I'm sticking to healthy food. It's probably lack of water. Glad to see your update! Congratulations on your progress - off to have a hot lemon drink Well done! That's an awesome drop! Don't you just love it when you go to put on clothes and they're too big :)Keep up the great work, and thanks for reminding me about Hot drinks. I've been sticking to water with something and totally forgot I can have hot too lol

    Surgery april 8...excited!

So we are twins miss brown! Lol! Well done to you too. It took me a while to hit my protein goals. I have a morning shake everyday that has 40 with milk, so this helps me reach 60-80 per day. I make protein dinners and lunches in advance. Sometimes I have tuna, baked beans and cottage cheese snacks for lunch too. I'm off puréed now and really just have softer choices and chew, chew, chew! My water and exercise are another story! I'm getting just over a litre a day but use borocca to help. I'm still tired, so minimal exercise but I'm working on it. How are you doing with exercise and water? Good luck, and keep up the great work!

    Surgery april 8...excited!

Down 28 pounds for 6 weeks in total. Feeling great about it. Would never have done this this quickly before!
  21. Wow that is cheap! All up with 12 month follow up my sleeve is costing approx $22,000:00 I think it's worth it though. I had a friend who had to access her super and it took 3 weeks. There seem to be a few of us on the coast! Yes, very cheap! Mine was 19500 at buderim with Ian Baxter. It was excellent though, and he has a great reputation. I had surgery on April 8 and feel fantastic now. I was feeling better a few days out. Money wise, I felt even better today as I got a refund from the hospital for just under $3000! I had no insurance and went private. Doc and anathese was 5000. I got 1200 back from Medicare too. So that drops cost to about 15500.

    Surgery april 8...excited!

I'm down to 219 today, from 244 pre op. I have the dreaded stall for 2weeks and even gained 5! But I'm so happy today because I've cracked the 100kg mark! Woohoo!
  23. I've upped my protein and water...and moved 1.5 kg! Yah!! Stick at it guys.
  24. Count me in too! 3 weeks post op and I've gone up 1.5kg this week. Very frustrating I hope I start losing again too...yes I'm constipated too. Trying to get my water up to 1.5 litres (currently 1.1), and increase protein (at about 45-55 ATM). So hard when you can't eat much. I walk too. It's nice to know we're not alone though...here's to week 4 and some bloomin' movement...both ways lol

    Stalling

Me too! I've only lost 4 kilos since surgery 2.5 wks ago. I even put on! Argh! But soooo happy to read this and the response, thanks girls We will conquer this! I've lost 10kgs in total (22lb) since pre op, so I'm happy but it is disconcerting to read about some who are dropping heaps when you are stalled so early! So thanks again, and good luck!
