  1. I had an update appointment with my surgeon today and I went over what I had left to complete. Have to get my letter of "recomendation" from my primary, and my psych eval on Monday! It's surreal that this is actually going to happen. My manager has blessed my personal leave as long as I can get coverage for my weekends and my coworkers are happy to help. I'm just so excited as this gets closer, 90 day apt Jan4th, then I go on vacation, and surgery will be sometime in November!

    Greek Yogurt IS Sour Cream!

Love the idea of using it foe salad dressing. I love "creamy" dressings but I won't them anymore due to calories/fat. I'm going to try the greek yogurt with lemon and maybe some herbs as soon as I can eat salads. thanks for the idea! Add chia seeds for a Caesar feel! Sent from my SM-N930V using the BariatricPal App
  3. I am convinced! I have used it in the place of sour cream a few times now and can barely tell the difference!! Sent from my SM-N930V using the BariatricPal App

    Win!

I'm 3 months pre-op and have been looking at things I'll need afterwards in my area. I found the Halo tops in ALL flavors at my Shoprite! Schweet haha Sent from my SM-N930V using the BariatricPal App

    Time off work

Yeah, I actually work on the unit my surgeon sends all his patients, so I'm hoping he makes them work with me on the restrictions. Temp disability sucks, I know, because I was on it for a broken ankle 6 months ago :/ The state of NJ likes to stick you wherever they can. Sent from my SM-N930V using the BariatricPal App
  6. I'm still in the prep phase of VSG, with a surgery 2/2017. I'm an RN in a hospital and there is no "light duty" for us. So they're saying I'll have to be out of work for 6 weeks... I'm new to this hospital and I don't know if they'll give me the time off... I really don't want something like this to hold me back... Sent from my SM-N930V using the BariatricPal App

    Finally beginning my journey!

I'm sorry you went through all that. Luckily with the insurance I have, by using the hospital I work for, I'll pay nothing. But all the approval stuff goes through Aetna, which my surgeon says as long as you stick to the rules they give no problems with approval. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N930V using the BariatricPal App
  8. I am 25 years old, a registered nurse working on med/surg bariatric unit, and have been overweight since adolescence. For four years I have wanted to get the sleeve done, but my parents insurance was a no go. This year I started working in a hospital with great insurance and just had my first appointment with the surgeon today! My surgery will be in Febuary as long as everything goes as planned. I have Aetna and have to make it 90days, no weight gain, psych eval, an upper GI study(just Xrays with contrast), and three nutritionist visits. I'm at my highest weight of 375 right now and my BP is periodically high. In January, I'm going on a cruise so that's why we're pushing it to February. I am beyond excited and ready to push through all of this! [emoji4]
