  1. I also had my surgery on Monday, March 31st and I was discharged Friday evening. I stopped all the pain meds on Wednesday. I had so much nausea that I could not move a muscle without heaving. I was certain it was the pain medication and I was right. By Thursday night the nausea was better and by Friday evening I felt almost human. I have pain but I'm not taking any of the prescribed pain meds. I'd rather hurt that feel like I'm going to puke all day long.

My stomach does spasm with every swallow. My doctor says this could last a few weeks. I see how this surgery causes you to lose weight - it's impossible to eat!

I am having the stomach muscle spasms and it's horrible--how long doe sit last? Had my surgery June 10th 2014.

what does your diet consist of?

I am still on liquids. I went to the doc and found out I had lost weight. I'm down 15 pounds now.

  3. Sleeved June 10th, had my first pre-op appointment lost 11lbs since the day of surgery and a total of 30lbs since the beginning of my journey at Kaiser. I am on full liquids but I am starting to incorporate some mushy foods like Beans, cottage cheese and ground turkey. I still have incision right side pain--surgeon said it was the muscle he stapled inside (to prevent future hernia) and it should get better--kind of sharp intense pain. Still sleeping on the couch / recliner (I am stomach sleeper) so sleeping on my bed is not comfortable because it hurts to move around at night. Overall I am feeling positive and I have NO REGRETS--I am glad I did it and my clothes is already feeling really big.

  4. My surgery is on June 10th. I am so afraid that part of me want to back out, but i know that i cannot.

I have 4 daughters and the youngest is 4 years old. I am so scared about the dangers of surgery.

How are you post-ers feeling? what has been the most challenging part of your recovery?

How did you do? I too was scheduled for June 10th

  5. I had my bypass surgery on June 9th. The liquid diet was (is) very hard because Im so tired of sweet stuff. I want something savory. Tastes bother me more than hunger. Now that Im a week post op there is no real hunger, just emotional hunger of not having something tasty to look forward to. Walking helps a lot! I have no post op pain, except for where my gallbladder came out. Emotions are just hitting me hard today. I can tell things are changing!

Try chicken stock that really helped me! I was tired am tired of the sweet stuff too.

  6. I just finished my Options class at Kaiser and I am waiting for my surgery referral-any day now. I am Mexican married to a Cuban with 3 kids that love to eat---(they are all thin). I am nervous that I am going to miss my fave Mexi-Cuba food!! Looking forward to hearing about everyone's experience.
