    EGD

Mine went smoothly too... it was super easy! My husband had the same procedure a few months before I did, but it was to test for celiac disease so they had to go poking around in his intestines, and his throat did hurt after probably because the scope was in there longer. Glad things went smoothly for you too! One more thing to check off the list!

    I'm Worried

I won't lie, it hasn't been easy. But when you start to see the weight come off, it will be so worth it, and you won't want to eat any of the fried stuff that might slow or stop the weight loss before you reach goal! That's the best piece of advice I've got. Oh, and keeping healthy Snacks like string cheese on hand for when cravings strike is always a good idea.
  3. I was on a clear liquid diet for 2 days after surgery and then I did pureed foods for 2 weeks, and currently I am on the soft food stage for another week. Just take it slow, and if you are having problems with food going back to the liquid stage to let yourself heal more is always an option. (as long as you can get Protein in) Good luck!

    Vein Problems

My veins are very difficult to find and it was even worse the day of surgery because I was dehydrated. They had to stick me several times before they found a vein and when they finally did I was scared to even move my arm because I didnt want the needle to fall out and for them to have to do it all over again lol! I thought I was gonna need a central line too.

I DID IT! One day post op

Congrats! I felt much better after about a week... went back to work at 2 weeks and my energy level was fine. Keep on walking and that gas pain will go away soon! The worst is over with... it's all uphill from here!

Brand New to all of this

Good luck to you and congratulations on the new baby! I am almost 2 months out and I have been very happy with my progress. I was one of the lucky ones with no complications and not much pain at all. my surgeon said the procedure went great. I was back to a very active job in 2 weeks with no problems.

How long after surgery did you

My nurse told me I could whenever I was ready. I think it was about a week. I had zero desire to have sex before that. Poor hubby.

    Protein

I can't really help if you like the fruity flavored drinks lol. I have a sweet tooth. I have chocolate trufffle and double stuffed cookie from syntrax nectar. I also like vanilla cake batter from celebrate. I also have to mix something else in to mask the whey flavor, some of my go to mix ins are peanut butter, blueberries, bananas, sugar free syrups, and sugar free pudding mix.

    Post op!

    That's wonderful! Congratulations!
  11. I used to miss diet coke. However, last week I drank something carbonated-not soda, without thinking about it and I had bad gas for hours LOL. Don't want that again..not worth it.

    Protein

My favorite right now is syntrax nectar chocolate mouse. I sometimes mix it with peanut butter and maybe some fruit. I also like double stuffed cookie nectar and celebrate vanilla cake batter. I got the nectars at the vitamin shoppe for around 30 bucks. Celebrate is expensive I got it for 60 bucks but it also has a lot of vitamins in it.
  13. Oh sorry, I just saw that you were on clears. Well, disregard my post then. During that stage, I loved SF popsicles. There's not many options, that stage is pretty boring. One thing I liked to do was get chicken noodle soup and eat the broth from that. Yum
  14. Not gonna lie, that part sucked. I did clear liquids for the first 2 days, and then pureed food/full liquids for another 2 weeks. I was so bored of it! Are you doing clear liquids or full liquids? If it is full liquids, maybe I can help. I ate lots of Soup during that time. If it had any chunks in it, I would puree it in the blender. Also, I was allowed eggs at day 7, if you mix it with milk it will make them softer and hopefully they will so down better. I was also allowed to have Beans (black or refried) and hummus. I also ate a lot of SF pudding and SF Jello. Good luck!

    What's your menu consist of?

I am about 6 weeks out and just finishing up the soft food stage. I still drink at least one protein shake a day, meatballs, Greek yogurt, sugar free pudding, sugar free jello, chicken salad, eggs, and sausage.

    Fruit?

My pre op diet was liquids only for a week! Hated it lol. Anyway I am 6 weeks out and I am allowed to have fruit without skins. I like fruit cups and I like to put blueberries and bananas in my shakes. I don't eat citrus fruits because of the acid.

    Any Regrets?

Good luck with your surgery! I am very happy with my sleeve and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! I will say that now and then I have moments where I wish I could just have a slice of cake or a cupcake from the bakery I used to love... lol... but then I think about what I'm gaining by getting rid of that stuff, and the sacrifice seems worth it. It isn't easy, but it has been worth it. I am just over a month out and have lost more than I have ever lost on any diet in my life!
  20. Also, you could try warm liquids to mix things up a bit, a lot of people, myself included, like hot tea because it tends to be soothing on the tummy!
  21. You will not starve yourself. The goal of the first week is to get as much fluid as you can. My instructions said that many ppl can't get more than 32 oz. but I was like you and didn't have any problems drinking so I think I made my goal pretty early. As long as you can get in fluids you will be okay. I didn't feel hungry at all for the first several weeks and sometimes had to remind myself to eat. Just take it easy and you will learn what the 'noises' from your new sleeve mean! Good luck and congrats!

    Feeling a bit alone ..

I know how you feel. I didn't tell anyone except my husband, family, and 1 friend about the surgery so I felt really alone during the entire pre op process. It sort of took some of the joy out of it. We are here for you.
