Totally off topic, just need somewhere to share
You are a WLS success and don't ever forget that. Even if he doesn't acknowledge it. Mine did not either. It's not why I left him this year (he is emotionally and mentally and verbally and financially abusive to me and my daughters) but it is why I got WLS. I needed the strength to make changes and once I got my food under control it happened. It isn't easy and my divorce has just begun, but I know I am capable of taking care of myself. I got my confidence back. I wish you the same.

First day after surgery
Congratulations !! Stay off the scale. Wait until your post op appointment to weigh. The reason is that most of us gain right after surgery from fluids and swelling. Also, walk a lot. It will help everything. Stay connected here and if anything feels worse rather than better day by day, call your doc right away.

Low calorie peppermint mocha I used to waste hundreds of calories on Starbucks peppermint mocha, not to mention the expense. I've been making this at home now: Decaf coffee Splash of half and half 1-2 drops of peppermint extract 1-2 drops of vanilla extract Pinch of baking cocoa (1/16th tsp? Tiny amount) Yum!

I have a better outlook today. Stop living in the future and enjoy the present. Today I have enough love, enough time with my daughters, enough money, enough therapy, enough food, enough shelter, enough cuddly doggies, enough everything. I will enjoy and be grateful for what I have. Worry is my enemy. Life is good. I just have to open my eyes.

FitBit One stopped syncing to iPhone
I do. I just use it for steps mostly, but it's a good reminder to keep moving.

Banders #6
Thanks. I don't feel like I'm in the zone, but I think you're right. I just had my lunch and actually stopped eating with some food left, because it was enough and I listened to the soft stop. So I guess I'm in the zone even if it doesn't feel like it. And it was tilapia. Definitely NOT comfort food. Lol. Thanks for the kind words.

Banders #6
I'd love to post something uplifting, but the truth is that today I am very down. The divorce is getting to me and big college bills are facing me that the NSETBEX won't pay. I've eaten more than I wanted to this Christmas. Too much wine as well. My youngest leaves for Spain in less than two weeks and will be gone for 4-1/2 months. I now have two almost bald spots at my temples where my hair has thinned so much. The lawyer wants another retainer replenishment and there's no end in sight. I ate a Protein Breakfast and packed a totally protein lunch and already logged them in MyFitnessPal to stay on track today. Today my goal is straight solid protein and no starch and no liquid calories. I was so depressed that I didn't weigh myself this week because seeing a gain again would have made me feel worse. I don't feel like this is my usual pattern of diet mentality self sabotage. That could be part of it, but I'm feeling pretty broken today. I feel like I've held it together for so long this year and now, just when things have started to change for me, I'm falling apart. I think that Christmas was the last thing I was holding it together for and now I'm feeling it all. I was hoping I wouldn't fall apart until both girls had returned to school. One back in Missouri and one in Spain. Why now? Why when I just dipped my toe in Onederland? I go to two 12 step groups and it does help. My food has to be clean to change anything. So today I have a concrete plan I will stick to. I will also get my butt to an OA meeting tonight. Thanks for being here. Now I'll clean up my streaked face and get back to my desk at work.

BP, Cholesterol, Blood sugars etc not just weight loss and size
Oh, and I'm looking pretty damn good, too.

BP, Cholesterol, Blood sugars etc not just weight loss and size
Um, yes. I did. And I'm down from two BP meds to one, off my cholesterol medicine, off painkillers and NSAIDS for my arthritis and take one pill and vitamins each day. I've lost a hundred pounds and have a little over fifty to go. This in ten months. The band saved my life.

FitBit One stopped syncing to iPhone
@@MarylandCrab, I got mine working. It required a FitBit restart. Here's how to restart it. http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/How-do-I-restart-my-tracker

Yoga's harder than it looks!
What I liked about my two free sessions was the peacefulness and do-able-ness of the poses. I couldn't do them the way the others did, but I could do a variation. It slowed me down and connected me to my body. I'd like to find an affordable way to keep it up. Can't afford that place!!

Anyone weigh 302? Here is what's in store for you!
Ten months ago I weighed 302. Yes, 302. I was so blue. My life was small and getting worse. Obesity was my lifelong curse. I had a dream. A dream to live. It asked for all my strength to give. I mustered strength and all my will. Every requirement I would fill. I got my LapBand and then began My new life of not "can't", but "can". I can, I said, and walked a mile. You've never seen a bigger smile. I can, I said, and rode a horse. "The hour trail?" I said, "Of course!" A trip to Italy, climbing hills. My new endurance gave me chills. A bubble bath is a luxury that once was for everyone else but me. An airplane ride with a regular belt. I can't describe how good that felt. The movie seats used to squish my hips. Now the room I have brings a grin to my lips. My larger clothes become someone's prize as I donate them for a smaller size. My dozen meds have gone away. One pill and a Vitamin today. Arthritis pain controlled me so. I am so glad to see that go. A hundred pounds have waved goodbye. There really is no better high. Fifty more to get to goal. Not stopping now. I'm on a roll! So if you're starting out, don't fear. This all can be in your new year! Have faith, believe, work hard, and give Yourself the best of gifts -- to LIVE!

Favorite gift you got and gave
That's awesome !!!

I screwed up
I'm hovering up and down by three pounds over the last few months. Too much rich food too often and wine. Love that wine. I need to exercise !!!
-
Not the same since my unfill...
That's disappointing. Do you think that if you tried a liquids diet for awhile it could reset your tightness? Just a thought. Good luck.

How the lapband works for me
You wrote this just for me today, right? Boy I needed to see this. Same weight for two months or more and eating out and drinking wine. Yep. Ok exercise it is.
