NSV!
My suregery date was MArch 20, 2014. About two weeks after surgery my mother in law had given me several outfits that were 1x in size. Day of surgery I was a 3x. In the last couple of days I have been able to comfortably fit into these 1x clothes and I almost cried. I did dance.

How/Why did you choose Lap Band?
I started out at the same weight that you are. I chose the lap band because i felt it was the best option for me. Go with what you want. consult with your doctor and research all weight lose surgery options. I researched for months before i ultimately decided. Remember you have to live with this decision.

Feeling Like My Surgery Is A LIFETIME Away
The surgery does seem to be a long time away but I promise it will fly by. I had to go to the dr. for 6 months before my insurance would pay for it. I thought to myself, this is gonna take forever but low and behold it flew by. So be patient. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BCBS of Alabama

Attitude change!
ok so I have a co worker who told me before my surgery on March 20 to please not let it change who I am. Two months into this he is already saying that Im totally different. I have felt like the surgery has thrown off my body some. How you might ask? well I just feel down at times but also aggravated at nothing in particular. I feel like this is just a side effect from the surgery in general but would like input. Thanks in advance.

Body image and distorted views
ok so here is my thoughts on the subject.........When I look in the mirror and have one of those yuck thoughts I ask myself "would you say those terrible things to someone else?" The answer is of course not! so why do i say them to me.......My self image has always been horrible even when I was smaller but over time I have learned that if im not uplifting to myself then it doesnt matter what everyone else says to lift me because it wont help. Love yourself and be proud of the hard work you have done. You are doing amazing and are truly inspiring.

My surgery has totally thrown me a curveball when it comes to my cycle. I have always been right on time. and for the two months since surgery it has been so unpredictable. i really hope it regulates back because i cant stand the not knowing when its coming. lol surprise visits have never been something i like.

Getting A Bit Of Cold Feet..Help, Please!
Hey Bee! I cried the night before my surgery. Everything and anything that could go thru my mind, did. I woke up the day of my surgery scared and still crying. But it was all for nothing. I couldnt be happier with my decision. I am currently two months post op and down 32 pounds. I am so glad that my fears didnt make me change my mind. Hang in there. I pray peace of mind over you.

no time for me
kbrtn gave very good advice. I work at a desk and i find myself pacing to get in some exercise. also when you take bathroom breaks maybe work in some squats while in there. you can catch exercise moments anywhere if you are looking for them. Good luck!

Well i have a band again!
I hope everything goes well for you. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that you've had surgery...what's your biggest obstacle?
Adubs, It does get better. Just hang in there. The first two weeks are the hardest. Good luck!

Now that you've had surgery...what's your biggest obstacle?
My biggest obstacle is feeling bad about eating something that isnt good for me. It makes me feel like i let myself down to indulge in these bad foods.

you look amazing. Congrats!!!!!!!!!

coffee is my problem
Be careful with sweetners. My nutritionist told me that your body can trick itself into thinking that it is real sugar if used in abundance. Was anyone else told this? I also love coffee but I have cut back from it some due to calories in my creamers.

I did it ! Banded yesterday
It does get easier. The first two weeks are the hardest but it is so worth it when you see the weight start coming off. Hang in there. Good luck!!!!!!

Any advise for someone considering surgery
It took me at least a year to fully commit to WLS. I made up my mind in June of 2013 and was banded on March 20, 2014. So far I have lost 26 lbs and couldnt be happier. I have not had any problems and dont anticipate any. Good luck in your decision.

I went to the dr. yesterday and 6 weeks post op i am currently 26 lbs. down. yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the worst part for me was the liquid stage but hang in there because it passes and it will be worth it.
